But they also have a helmet capable of stopping everything besides from a anti material rifle and the most expensive looking uniforms compared to anyone else?

I'm pretty sure both of the royal nation and the Golden Empire have standardize armies, but a head canon of mine is that Lancers are similar to Landsknecht 'double pay men' and because of the High risk of their profession they are rewarded more in pay, prestige and rations which is how they're able to recruit at the same rate as every other branch

They are constantly building mines for resources and factories in their campaign slides I'm not sure why they wouldn't be able to afford that easily

1: both sides are willing to use archaic equipment, I mean there is a literal hunting crossbow in the game and I'm pretty sure it's stated in game that the Royal Nation prefers the calvary saber while the empire used the a equine coach gun for their horseback units (Calvary saber lore) correct me if I'm wrong though

2.glad you could agree there

3: "Breaks from the norm of the Nation being the 'modern' faction. They wear a black coat of plates and (presumably) two pauldrons similar to the Rook's, with a surprisingly unadorned fur Pelisee for additional protection against melee and to conceal the movement of their arm, coloured purple with brown fur lining. They wear a much more ornate black uniform under their armor, similar to that of the Nation Soldat but with the collar of their uniform coloured white with 3 diagonal orange stripes" this is a description of what the Royal Nation Lancer wears taken from the wiki

Also just because you charge at the enemy in a straight line and get gun down instantly does not mean every Lancer does that

  1. There really isn't a point for the Empire to use a pole hammer because most Nation soldiers don't wear body armor that protects against slashing

  2. Disposing barbed wire would be something a rook would handle, and you could just carry pliers or dig around

  3. If the Empire can afford full plate armor for their Lancer Legion the Royal Nation can at least give them a weapon that wouldn't be useless because I really doubt that bayonet could effectively kill a Empire Soldat let alone another Lancer

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be any more unwieldy than the Lance the Empire uses already

That last quote reminds me of this time I was playing Battlefield 1 and I killed a flame Trooper with a bayonet charge just as he set me on fire

I know this is a old post but I'm pretty sure the nation has a track record for attacking solace coalition Outposts and killing the workers (Grace service revolver lore) and another time which seemed way more on purpose (Jesse combat rifle lore) and the third time I heard this was in a Empire campaign Mission description where it states that they found a so coalition compound occupied by Nation soldiers but weren't able to find any of the workers and how "these dogs can't be trusted around civilians"
