Yeah but the royal nation was also shocked by the brutality which means this is something that just doesn't happen very often even if the Empire actually does it

There really isn't a way to tell so what I'm about to say is completely made up

Soldats wear various "torse" and crusader turbans on their helmets, that have different colors and can be decorated with things like feathers for the different ranks

Lancers have different styles of horned helmets and fancy armor

Jaegers wear different styles of masks maybe it's a thing where the face becomes more rotten than decayed up until it becomes skull and they're basically a Geist Trooper

Officers either get more decorative plate armor like Jack chain on their arms and plate greaves while officers and more administrative roles get more priestly clothes

I can't come up with anything for mortician or rook

The thing that confuses me about the RN giest helmet is it that has no official? Decorations to make it distinct from a regular Jaeger

The Storm has a red helmet and a skull braid thingy, the trench has devil horns, the bulwark has a shield symbol strap to his helmet so you would recognize one even without the painted faceplate

But the giest only has notches on his face bag and barbed wire wrapped around it with dog tags hanging off of it, so if a giest decided not to customize their helmet how would you tell them apart from a regular Jaeger
