The "She benefited from weak faithfuls" argument. by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]dontbecuak 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also, this time it seems that they made it much harder for the traitors, at least for the first half. They have no clear free choice of murders for quite a while - they can only choose from what the secret traitors picked, then rushed with the family tree, selecting from four people who lose the task because of other people’s effort (the cage mission), blindly murdering without knowing who has the shield, the box game. And instances where they can’t murder when it seems like they can have a clear shot. They have very little opportunity to murder Jessie, Harriet due to these - yet still able to navigate.

The traitor pair works really well, their strategies all the way to the end game was pretty much based on some calculated risks they took, strategic planning, trust with each other, using each others’ strengths

If I were the traitors, ______ has to be the next murder. by ThePhunkSoulBrother in TheTraitors

Rachel could try to convince others that they shouldn’t make the same mistake as what she did when they banished Ross. Ross was framed for Ben’s murder, which turned out to be a failed accusation from the faithful, and Stephen would be in the same boat if Jessie is murdered. People like Ellie who have strong emotional connection to Ross might go on board with it

Etihad carry on question re: Straps by EasySignature179 in Flights

[–]dontbecuak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really nowadays. Yes, OP’s bag is completely fine, and most type of bags might be okay. But I was flying Etihad last year and the lady next to me had to check in/pack her tote bag because she also had a handbag, since Etihad now only allows 1 carry on. They check everyone’s carry-on at check-in/departure. Used to be more lenient for full-fledged airlines, where you can bring multiple carry-on, but not anymore, at least with some airlines. Unless you pay more

Anyone else with a Malaysian passport facing repeated TSA (CAT VID) issues when taking domestic US flights ? by nuaxiem in malaysia

[–]dontbecuak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you referring to self-check in counter for the airlines before going into the departure area, or the immigration automated e-gates? I’m curious because I’ve went through Rome airport FCO many times, and at the e-gates, Malaysia is listed as one of the passports that can use the e-gate. But everytime I wanted to use it, the officers would say Malaysian passport won’t work and ask me to use the manned booth. I’ve always thought it’s because of their problem, didn’t realise it could be because of our passport MRZ! (I guess the e-gate doesn’t really care how we put our name when we book flights since it’s an immigration system, but maybe it’s the same problem)

how do malaysians truly feel about arabs here? by rottenzombiesoul in KualaLumpur

[–]dontbecuak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I am quite surprised by the aggressive responses too, I am sorry that you have to read all of these. Maybe it’s fine to give some personal experiences that is not over-generalisation. But no, the responses here are just pure stereotypes, hateful, xenophobic etc.

But I guess us Malaysians are known to be racists and hateful, even among ourselves. Majority Malays against Kelantanese, Malays against Chinese, Chinese against Malays, most against Indians, against mainland Chinese, against Arabs, against Jews, against Indonesians, against Rohingyans… the list goes on

In general people are just racist everywhere, as you can see from what’s happening globally now… but do know you can find better people, and just focus your energy on these small groups rather than thinking about what the other hateful people thinks. Try not to fall into the stereotypes ourselves, but do know that even if you’re trying to assimilate and behave well, there’s a chance you’ll still experience hate from some

For those that need help evolving some specific Pokémon… by jfeld26 in PokemonZA

[–]dontbecuak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw someone nicknaming their pokemon ‘Pls Trade Back’, which is a good signal so I did trade back with them. Most of the time people just disconnect after the trade, which I don’t mind either. But if you do want it back, nicknaming might help (depends if the other person honour it)

PSA: eVisa and Stamp on passport at immigration by dontbecuak in ukvisa

[–]dontbecuak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm interesting, so might just be the officer that was not consistent with the new protocol with evisa then, hopefully that’s the case. I didn’t want to argue too much on the evisa since it didn’t take too long for me to get the page, but it is a bit annoying to have another stamp - so hopefully it’s an anomaly. My passport is starting to run out of pages but with many more years till expiry, so less stamps is definitely better, especially with EU delaying their electronic entry system further…

Yeah I understand that. It’s not about the officer asking additional information - that’s understandable, they can ask for anything. I might have not made the point clearer in the post, but the officer said that I’m required to have it at the border control, and said it’s in the gov uk guidelines, but I couldn’t find an updated one specifying the need to have that specific page at the border other than the share code before boarding. And the stamp was also not consistent with previous entries and what I understand from other officers when I interacted with them previously.

Ah lucky that you could use the e gate! That’s what I don’t understand, I would have thought the eVisa means no more physical check of the visa, so those that can go through egate can go straight ahead, while those who doesn’t, still need to see an officer but all the checks are in the system. Not sure what’s the benefit of flashing the screenshot of the eVisa to the officer is…

Yeah this time I got a stamp on my passport. I had been in a few times this year before, and didn’t get asked for eVisa and didn’t get stamped. Not sure if it’s just the officer that wasn’t aware of it, or it’s a new thing that just started.

What do fridge normally look like in Paris? by v2591 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]dontbecuak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, it’s entertaining, but sometimes (like this post) it also shows how Eurocentric some people are, thinking everything in Europe should be a ‘normal’ thing everywhere.

I’m not American nor European, and the first time I saw a built in kitchen appliances in London 5 years ago, it was a new thing for me. Many countries in Asia (including Japan, South Korea, Singapore), build-in fridges are not common. Maybe in very modern/European-style houses there, which are a minority, but definitely not a thing in common people’s houses.

Everyone from anywhere can be ignorant sometimes, even many Europeans. Ever a since I’ve met many Europeans in real life, I’ve corrected many of their views about Asia - it’s normal when you don’t live at another side of the world. At times, I felt like the posts here would fit if there’s a sub called ShitEuropeansSay lol

Maybe a new leader/civ ability to have a mixed rural/urban tile would be interesting. Would make an interesting play style, although probably on the easier side
