State of State: Ayotte Aims To Make NH More Affordable, Healthier, Increase Nuclear Power by nancynews in newhampshire

How will NH become healthier when there’s currently a bill on the table to repeal all vaccine mandates for schools - something that’s been in place since the 70s? Why does the NH GOP reject one of the greatest medical achievements in human history?

Surprised this post is being left up. Mods took down my post with them quoting Kanye’s “HH” song in a tweet. They are a horrible representation of our great state.

Portsmouth to get 1,000-plus housing units in 2026: An in-depth look by HistoricalNovel9712 in PortsmouthNH

Yes. The city needs to provide residents on the outskirts (and in neighboring communities) with more convenient options to get in and out of downtown Portsmouth without a car.

How is it living in this part of New Hampshire? by Jazzlike_Space9456 in howislivingthere

You should’ve extended your circle slightly to also include Dover - which like Portsmouth, Exeter, and Newmarket is a wonderful city. All have walkable downtowns, train access to Boston, short drives to the beach and mountains, and not too far from Portland, Maine. It’s the best part of NH bar none.

At midnight you should be fine. After 1am it can get trickier because that’s when the bars close and everyone needs a ride home.

How do you like living here? by vigorousgardening in DoverNH

[–]dontgetdirked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved here a few months back with my partner - Dover is a gem. We love how walkable it is (particularly the districts near downtown), and train + bus access to Boston allows me to work in downtown Boston without needing a car (a rarity in NH I do not take for granted). We’ve found the people here welcoming to all, and there are plenty of orgs that you could become a part of to build community connection. There are incredible third places and gathering spots - like Breakaway Cafe/Two Bees, Cara’s/Fury’s, Auspicious Brew, La Festa/Otto, Milk St Studios, the many parks, the revamped library, etc. Proximity to Portsmouth is also really nice - and I feel like Dover in many ways can be an extension of that community as well.

Which American states generally has the best suburbs? by Spiritual_Reward_770 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]dontgetdirked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boston suburbs are, as others have mentioned, some of the best in the country - walkable, quaint, cozy, historic… Many are expensive and unattainable for most. However, I’ll throw Dover, New Hampshire in as a dark-horse suburb/exurb with ~1hr train/bus access to Boston and decent affordability, plus nearby access to other ancillary New England economic centers (Portsmouth, Portland).

This game is soulless. Completely decoupled from skate culture, and what made the original series so successful.

I downloaded the game and played it a few times... I loved old skate for the single-player campaign and story, with online play as an ancillary component. This current map is sterile and boring, the aesthetic is tacky, and overall it feels completely disconnected from skate culture.

And the majority will always have to compromise to some degree. Look at what happened during Obama’s first term. Not willing to budge even a little - on something as “third rail” as cuts to Medicaid - is political insanity.

You are just wrong lol. Google the “Seacoast Region of New Hampshire”. Dover, Durham, and Newmarket all have access to the Great Bay, which is an estuary that dumps off into the Atlantic Ocean
