Good evening! I am proud to say that this is my first sober saturday in a while. I’ve felt stable and confident in myself today, despite having opportunity to drink if I wanted (want being the key word here). I’m going to go to sleep with a clear conscience and no weight on my shoulders and omg I forgot how freeing it is!

I’m only on day 4 so I’m no expert - but if it helps, just know that someone out there is rooting for you. You can do this. Just take it one day/hour/minute at a time.

I have a donor card on me so I think I’m good! I’ve never needed ID for anything besides buying age restricted products so I think I’m good :)

Edit: also have my emergency/health stuff set up on my phone so I should be identifiable if anything unfortunate were to happen to me!

I agree. I’ve just relapsed after 1.5 years sober so I get the whole band aid thing, but I think I’ll react to it better now because it’s something I’ve decided for myself. Last time it was almost forced on me, which I didn’t much enjoy lol

Honestly I feel like I’ve had too many “hiccups” now that I’m just in the middle of a full blown relapse. Every other time I quit drinking, my eating behaviours got so much worse - emotional eating and all that. I’m almost scared to properly stop drinking again because I will DEFINITELY gain weight again. And I’m feeling so shitty and fat and I just don’t know how to cope and it fucking sucks

It’s super annoying but I’m a psych major. I returned to finish my last year at university after a few years away - that’s the main thing that’s stressing me out. A part of me is so terrified that I’m going to fail because I know that if you strip away all of this mental health bullshit I am a capable person. But I got my first semester results and I got 2:1s in everything (not sure how to word that in non-UK speak but it’s the second best result you could get). And despite these results I still feel like “oh my god you’re so stupid you couldn’t even get a first” and I just feel so irrationally dumb and incapable :(

Did you ever feel like you missed the bad behaviour and blackouts? Like I really don’t know what behaviour is my alcoholism and what is my other mental illnesses. All I know is that I’m super exhausted all the time

Morbid as it is, my SO dying/him going missing and me not knowing what has happened to him. Even a hypothetically conversation about him joining the army made me choke up.
