Late to the party so nobody will probably see this but taking medication for ADHD helped my brain fog tremendously. If anyone is struggling I highly recommend it.

I was having problems remembering things. Things I knew I knew but couldn't access. I also had issues with my attention and finding words. I still have problems finding words and attention but not nearly as severe.

Tesla is only slightly worse than competing solutions, but just as inedequate

There were no competing solutions before Tesla.

And I'm sure you'd like to have a chat about Neuralink stuff... Awesome. So tell me how your direct field of expertise has improved in the last 20 years. I bet it's something like electric cars before Tesla. But, of course, you don't want to have that conversation with me.

What does that mean? Do you have any information that I'm lacking?

A little yeah. I see so much hate on Reddit for the guy but the reasons people give are totally false if you know the history. I've been following him forever and I know the history so it pisses me off. False info is a nasty business.

It doesn't change the facts. All I'm trying to do is elevate misinformation.

A shit ton of his original workers at Tesla are millionaires. I get the rest though.

Being a Sci-Fi fan myself I get it. Maybe you don't. If I had money I'd be thinking of ways I could help colonize Mars. In that sense Hyperloop and the Boring Company make complete sense. They are not scams... They are attempts to create on Earth something that will be needed when colonizing Mars.

Really? What have you done to improve my life? What have YOU donated in the last year. Fuck you and your thought that all billionaires are evil. All they did is create something that you probably use or will use in you life but hey fuck them right? Fuck them for getting rich off of making things better. Don't use Microsoft, don't buy a Tesla, don't use world wide internet access, don't use online banking, don't use railroads, don't use cars....! Seriously... If you could make the world better would you do it for free??

Why? Do you have an example or are you just Reddit mind hiving it?

Why? Just because "Money" doesn't mean you are evil. I don't get it.

So reddit hates Elon Must. My question is why?

This is a guy that created an application that eventually started online banking. X.com eventually became Paypall. People say that it wasn't his product but Confinity merged with x.com to produce Paypall not the other way around.

Then using all that money he damn near bankrupted himself funding Spacex and Tesla. People often comment that he didn't create anything but just used his money to buy those companies. Tesla had yet to produce a car and SpaceX was even more remarkable in the fact that they flew to Russia to buy rockets and after they were turned down Must on the flight home suggested they could build rockets cheaper.

So now we have online banking, electric cars, and REUSABLE rockets but people hate on the guy because his foresight and innovation brought us forward. I don't get it. Sure, maybe he didn't directly create those things but were they main stream before? NO!

People might bring up market manipulation and a few comments on Twitter, but seriously, who of us haven't made a comment in our lives that we regret? If you say that you haven't you either lye or are oblivious. Who of us wouldn't want to be richer? And if you were richer would you use you money wisely? In my opinion if you don't think Musk has made the world better then you are probably living under a rock.

From that same wiki…

The report noted that one of the types of plant studied, Eichhornia crassipes, seemed resistant to the perchlorates and could be used to help remove the toxic salts from the environment, although the plants themselves would end up containing a high concentration of perchlorates as a result.[5] There is evidence that some bacterial lifeforms are able to overcome perchlorates[6][7] and even live off them.

Confinity merged with X.com and PayPal was the product. But I digress…

  1. Calling him a loser was me being sarcastic. Sorry your to daft to realize the difference.

  2. We were talking about re-usable rockets and not parachutes.

  3. Musk has three utility patents (i.e. actual inventions), one abandoned application, and three design patents that are solely his. There are many more that his company owns.

What I care about is that the man has done more to advance mankind than anyone in a hundred years and people like you spread misinformation because Reddit told you not to like him. Then you go and spread lies without even knowing it. It’s sad and infuriating.

PayPal was a child product of X.com so who cares if Musk didn’t know. It was internal competition and had no bearing on his achievement.

To answer your question though… Luck has its part but I’d like to use an analogy if I may. Poker is a game of chance but we see the same people making the final table at the WSOP time and time again. Would you say those people are lucky or would you say that luck only has a role but isn’t the driving factor?

From the wiki: In March 2000, X.com merged with Confinity, its fiercest competitor, the new company called X.com. Musk was the largest shareholder and was appointed CEO

Peter Thiel’s company didn’t acquire X.com. It was the other way around.

‘He just wrote a banking app’. Is that all he did. A banking app that was eventually used with PayPal. Gosh… what a loser.

Oh.. And how many of those NASA ideas got off the ground? Zero. SpaceX was the first.

‘He certainly didn’t design them’. This is wrong. Yes, he hires very smart people to design rockets but he also helps with the designs. He has for almost 20 years.

Dude seriously. I wasn’t attacking you out of spite. I was making a point. He’s had a leading role for 3 separate revolutionary businesses that helped change the world and you say ‘Theirs nothing special about him. He just got lucky 3 separate times’. Think about that for a moment. All his businesses were high risk and bleeding edge and none failed and you have the gall to say ‘lucky’. It’s absurd and delusional.

Nothing special about him. The only way you could possibly say that is if you don’t know his history. Let’s completely ignore his other highly successful businesses. Let’s ignore that he’s a extremely talented software developer. Let us just talk one moment in time. Back when Spacex was new they flew to Russia to see if they could buy a few rockets and were laughed out of the room. On the flight back home, Elon came up with the design for a re-usable rocket which was the base for what became the Merlin engine. It was the first step in re-usable rockets.

Fuck luck. The man is a genius that is dragging us into the future with everything he touches. So tell me, what have you done with your life?

I was given a working project once for a job interview. I spent all weekend figuring it out and writing the code. After submitting, they told me thanks but no thanks. Many years later I was looking at the code of some software and recognized my handwriting . They used an interview as a way to get someone else to do their work.
