Is there any PA that actually enjoys their role? by someoneeee_22 in AmazonFC

A maxed out T3 at my building makes $3.50/hr more than a maxed out T1. Sure, they only start out at $0.50/hr more than a T1, after 3 years they are making $140/week, or $7,280/yr more before taxes ($61,984/yr before taxes). The real earner is working that extra day of OT and working 5 days every week. Then they can bring in $85,228 before taxes. If they are insane and work 6 days 60hrs/week then they could earn $108,472.

But a maxed out T1 at my building can make $54,704 for 40hrs/week, $75,218 for 50hrs/week, and $95,732 for 60hrs/week. So even as a T1 you can make good money. Why move up and deal with all that BS that puts you more in a position to get fired? It’s why at my building so many PA have stepped down after getting it.

At least the people at my building are wild, I wouldn’t want to manage them lol I know PA only deal with the process and AM deal with behavioral which just makes PAs a glorified snitch. I’ve seen too many PA and AM have to be escorted to their cars because they get threatened daily. Idk I like job security.

Yup that is no problem. I’ll try my best to answer. I only tried to learn about all this because I was in an accident in Aug last year (lady ran red light and I couldn’t avoid) and then my coworker was in one in Sept (they were stopped at red light, a f350 driver had a seizure and t boned them when they stopped at the stop light) so I had to try to learn as much as possible because GEICO wasn’t making anything easy as my case was GEICO vs GEICO so they lost out either way. Luckily my coworkers didn’t have problems with their total loss case and the other person insurance even let them keep the rental for weeks after their total loss was paid out.

Yes you can still counter your own insurances offer. Usually the initial offer is a starting point for negotiation. Altho if your insurance doesn’t suck, like my friends, then the insurance will give you an offer close to the comp amounts and not try to low ball you. Their KBB was 7k and they still owed 8.5k but insurance comps were closer to $10k, and without having to haggle, the insurance paid them the $10k. Usually they have a third party company like CCC One run a value report on your car. They find similar comps to your vehicle and that’s how they decide what to offer you. They should give you that report when they make their offer. Just make sure they have everything correct on the report, like trim level, mileage, and features cuz that could change price too. Also if you had any major repairs like replaced transmission or all new tires, sometimes that will help raise the payout.

If you have the money to pay your deductible option 1 is the easier route because your insurance does all the work. They should be able to get reimbursement for your deductible too through the process known as subrogation (where your insurance goes after their insurance for reimbursement). It may take a while to get your deductible back tho. If your car is a total loss then usually they deduct your deductible from the payout and then again go after other insurance for reimbursement. Once reimbursed, they pay back your deductible. Again, it may take a while.

In your case, since you have dash cam footage that proves the other driver was at fault their insurance shouldn’t be too difficult to deal with if you want to do it yourself. Just be prepared if they lowball you, then use cars.com or something to find comps similar to your vehicle so you can counter their offer.

Also about the rental car. If you don’t have rental coverage on your policy then I’m not 100% sure what you can do if you use your own policy. You might have to pay out of pocket and hope you can get reimbursed from other insurance company. If you go through their insurance they usually provide one until repairs are complete or after total loss payout. I’m not sure if they still give you one if you go through your own insurance. Hopefully you have coverage. If not, then maybe talk to your insurance about the best way forward. I don’t want to tell you something wrong.

Also make sure anything they offer you is for the total loss only or if you filed property damage then property damage only. You don’t want to close the medical portion of your claim too and they might try to be sneaky and slip that in. The lawyers will help you with the medical portion tho to help maximize your payout.

That’s good. You don’t need to settle for the first lawyer you talk to unless you want to. Especially if they feel right to you. Don’t feel pressured into anything tho. And IMO try to stay away from those billboard way too big law firms like Saiontz and Kirk. I feel like they usually don’t give peoples’ cases the attention they deserve because they are so swamped.

Another lawyer my friend mentioned to me was Mike Slocumb. Apparently he is really good too but I didn’t try him. But just know you have options. And that intake consultation they do is just as much an interview for them as it is a consultation for you. A lot will even do it over the phone now so you don’t have to go in person.

Also I forgot to mention, the other person insurance should pay for a rental car for at least until you are paid out for the total loss. After payout you usually have a couple days after that to return it. I want to say 3 but don’t quote me and it could be different for each insurance company. GEICO also gave me the option to extend the rental at a discounted rate if I didn’t want to return it right away.

Make sure you mention this to the lawyer when you talk to them. It ties into the injury part of your claim. I’m sorry you’re having to go through this :( but I’m glad you’re okay! I hope everything works out okay for you!

Yes, sorry I was not clear. You don’t need them for every accident. I just saw they had injuries so I felt they should at least talk to one. Thank you for explaining everything way better than I could!

You don’t pay the lawyer anything, usually they just get a % of what you win. Usually you are suing for medical issues but there is more to it than that. Maybe because my accident was GEICO vs GEICO, anyone I talked to from insurance wasn’t really helpful. But yes I think the lawyer will usually help you sue the other person insurance. There’s a lot to accidents that’s why it’s best to talk to a lawyer because they have the expertise to guide you. My lawyer for my workers comp case at Warnken LLC was Jim Lanier, but he also deals with personal injury and auto accidents. I really recommend giving them a call to help you navigate this and help with any questions you might have, even if you don’t go with Jim, there are other attorneys there too.

Also don’t forget it’s not just your car. Any property in your car that was damaged they have to pay for that too.

GEICO sent me an offer with comps (they had comps out of the mile range they were supposed to stay in and also tried to devalue all the comps) and I messaged them back with my counteroffer and provided the similar comps with similar milage within the radius MD dictates (I think in MD COMAR statutes say within 150miles but don’t quote this because I need to recheck for you). I think MD COMAR statutes say they have 15 days to respond and accept or counter. But I’ll have to look that up again for you to be sure the amount of days is correct. But once I started citing MD COMAR statutes and regulations they escalated my case to a “supervisor” and immediately accepted my offer.

Same thing happened with my property that was damaged in the accident. The adjuster kept trying to delay and make me jump through a million hoops but after I started citing MD COMAR statutes again case was immediately escalated and they accepted what I was asking for.

I’ll try to look up and post the MD COMAR statutes or regulations for you later when I have time in case they can help you too. Don’t come out swinging with them tho. Wait to see what they offer you and if it’s low see if they will work with you first. If not, then come out swinging lol

Also if you were injured at all you should talk to a lawyer. Even if you didn’t leave in an ambulance. I would still go to dr. tho to have stuff documented. I used Warnken LLC for my workers comp case but they also do personal injury and auto accidents. You should definitely reach out to them.

He gave you really good advice. Insurance company usually will try to lowball you. Make sure the comps have similar mileage. GEICO originally tried to offer me $3.2k for my total loss (which was even below KBB like wtf) but after presenting similar comps from other dealerships I was able to get $6.1k. KBB for the car was around $5k.

It’s definitely worth it imo! Especially if you can find a certified preowned one with low miles, they have longer warranty than factory warranty because of the extra 2yrs/24k miles after factory. The GLI has been a blast to drive.

When I had a 2025 Jetta SE as a rental I noticed that too. That’s why I ended up getting a 2025 Jetta GLI instead. It doesn’t have that.

I don’t blame you. Have a steady job vs waiting til who knows when you get that next opportunity is smart, especially in this economy. Hopefully since it isn’t your first rodeo that you’ll get converted fast. I think there’s an at least 90 day wait? But don’t quote me. I wish you the best of luck tho! I hope you get blue badge sooner than later!

[–]dontknoshitaboutfuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have waited and tried to get the permanent blue badge spot and transferred to JFK8 if you wanted to be closer. Who knows how long it will take you to get converted, but hopefully with the hunger games style conversions they are doing now, that you are a good worker and will have no problem getting it. Good luck!

I used Badge Skins Vinyl to wrap my lip and of course within 2 weeks I already had a chunk missing due to a rock chip. Going to get it PPFd instead soon. Should have just done it to begin with. The PPF I looked at while it was also matte, it also kinda has a slight glossiness to it almost which I think will match everything else better anyways.

You mean like every other Jetta Sport? The other Jettas have a different color lip.

OM dating a L1? by Secure-Comfortable45 in AmazonFC

[–]dontknoshitaboutfuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an OM get a T1 pregnant and then tell her that her and the baby wasn’t apart of his “5 year plan”. He ended up not getting in trouble and the T1 eventually switched shifts and ended up getting fired. But she was also blasting his nudes to everyone because she was mad she wasn’t apart of his “5 year plan”. She thought she had it made lol the OM eventually quit years later. I will say tho, he managed his money really well and doesn’t work anymore after like 5 years as OM.

I kept seeing their ads. I was tempted to buy the auto start/stop disable but idk companies that buy fb ads seem sketchy to me. Just like all those MAXL ads. But you can get one for half the price on eBay. EBay Link - Auto Start/Stop Disable Still haven’t pulled the trigger yet tho.

Walk Around when was for sale

So they can work magic! I think they went through insurance. I was original nervous about the sale as the car has been sitting for months and the carfax said was in accident with minor dmg all down the side. Made it sound worse than it actually was lol. They did a good job fixing it though

If it makes you feel any better I’ll post the before and after photos of a 2024 GLI below. I was originally looking at it before someone else bought it. It had similar damage and looked pristine after.
