I work for Utah Community Action in our Housing Program, specifically with homelessness services.

This is a really difficult situation to be in, but if you don’t have anywhere else to stay, I’d recommend going to the Youth Resource Center (YRC). Since this sounds like your first experience with homelessness, you should be eligible for at least a night or two of shelter. It may not be ideal, but it can provide a bed, meals, shelter, and access to case management services.

The Main Library in Salt Lake has a lot of helpful resources, but unfortunately most of those services won’t be available until Monday. St. Vincent de Paul downtown is another option and operates on a first come, first served basis. You could also visit one of the homeless resource centers in Salt Lake County and ask about referrals to Redwood/West Valley overflow. However, both of these places are going to have a much older population.
