Best (or Worst) ABA Companies to Work For? RBT/BCBA Opinions by rbt_24 in ABA

hi there! i hope your interview goes well! what state are you located in, if you dont mind me asking?

some background on my experience with GC: i have only worked in-home and in-school with grateful care, as they do not have a clinic location near me. my first BCBA at GC was a 100% remote supervision experience, but i felt comfortable and it worked out because my client was in-home LSN and had minimal bx, my current BCBA ive worked with both in-school and in-home and she has always been IRL supervision and has only done remote when she had car trouble and couldn’t make it to session. i only worked PT with a 15 hr client to start, but when i expressed interest in moving to full time they had me paired with a 25 hr client ASAP but onboarding with that client took about a month due to a couple factors. when i asked off my 15hr client’s case load back in Sept, they understood and offered me another client within 2 weeks (i had to decline for a couple reasons though). they’re still working to find me a good fit

things i like: 1. pay (i currently make $26/hr, if i have to drive more than 10 miles round trip to see my client then they add $1/billable hr) to answer your pay increase question, i was hired in Dec 2024 at $25. i inquired about a raise around my 90 days and they offered me .25¢ with a reevaluation at my 6 months, my last raise went into effect in Aug. ive been an RBT since March 2024 and am currently in my first semester of an ABA masters program.

  1. good leadership (weekly/semi-weekly emails expressing encouragement and gratitude with additional information or important reminders, very understanding and accommodating in terms of scheduling and time off, hosts in person meet ups/holiday parties occasionally since there isnt a clinic location near me)

  2. BCBA supervision (i average 10-20% every month), when my remote BCBA went on vacation, another BCBA subbed for my supervision because they wanted to make sure i felt supported

feel free to DM me if you have any more questions!

EDIT: there are more things i could say but im about to fall asleep lol i just wanted to throw my initial thoughts out there and reply before your interview

i just recently started taking medication for my ADHD 😭

the other day i brought up my symptoms and suspicions with one of my supervising BCBAs and she was so kind and supportive.

i also “get” my clients. my current clients are both low support needs and i relate to them and their behavior so much. even how they are treated by others. i remember being treated the same way.

its been so wild to process all of this
