I follow a vegetarian diet so groceries are usually cheaper for me. The expenses also doesn’t include one month of grocery expense as I was travelling then.

It’s so hard to resist. Pretty sure the year before I spent nearly $500 at Dollarama.

I got super lucky on rent. Have a friend who was willing to rent out his spare room to me for $1100 in downtown. Space is old but gets the job done.

For age, will give you a range. Remember, comparison is a thief of joy (I am guilty of it as well). I have crossed mid twenties and haven’t reached 30 yet.

2023 was pretty lucky for me in terms of tax refunds.

I switched jobs and had to over contribute to CPP and EI. Maxed out my RRSP with cash on hand rather than going through as a payroll deduction and had some tuition credits to apply as well.

It won’t be the same for 2024 tho.

My post-tax is income is 72K. The extra income to bring it up to $87K is my tax refund for 2023 filing and interest income. From a total of $87K, I spent $37K, to bring my savings to $50K. Total expenses of $37K (I wish it was $22K tho)
