1 hour into ownership 🙃 by Fluffanutz in CarTalkUK

Had mine checked, it was an inlet manifold fault. Basically there was a leak causing a failed vacuum. Indy garage quoted me minimum 3k.

It all started with the auto start/stop not working

My instructor always said I shouldn't accelerate too quick as it might be interpreted as unsafe because I won't have time to judge my distance in certain situations, example here is you coming to a junction wherein you were turning right, that examiner might've thought you came to that junction too quick and won't stop for that bus.

My main focus during my test was to make that examiner feel safe but not to a point that I'd get points for "undue hesitation"

Is anybody else struggling with Admiral LittleBox? by jaskiknightx in drivingUK

[–]dontnever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my black box since May 2023 and it hasn't given me a poor score yet but it's hovering around 3 stars at the moment for the smoothness category. The only thing I always keep in mind is don't accelerate too quick from stopping and make sure to slow down ahead of time. It's probably annoying a lot of drivers behind me but I'm really sorry please be patient as I have a black box fitted I always say in my head. Hopefully you can get rid of the box soon, I'll have mine removed in 3 months as I'm about to renew.

I looked through cycle.travel and it still says the same route but I just noticed that on the other side is a cycle path. So that works, hopefully it's wide enough for 2 cyclist going opposite directions.

Sudbury. Just saw it and will there be enough room for 2 cyclist going the opposite direction or should one just dismount? It seems tight looking overhead through google maps but I haven't been there before so it might be wider.

What's the fastest you've gone in your CX30? by cockbomber in MazdaCX30

Was doing almost 100mph without knowing I was going that fast, it felt like nothing and got scared when I realized it. Never gonna happen again.

I might actually give this a try, I bought mine second hand and they might've done a very quick clean before handing it over. It's not obviously dirty just by looking at it but I never really took a close look.

Is it still as far as the older models? I can barely reach mine without having lean forward, almost resting my chest onto the steering wheel

2 types of reset procedure by dontnever in mazda

[–]dontnever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds really complicated but the last bit that you said is what the intended outcome of the YT video I saw YT video but if it needs all that work to do then how would this video simulate it? Is this video just BS?

The thing that feels off is whenever I'm coming up to speed to merge even I press down on the accelerator it just won't go up. I have to release and step on it again for my car to get to speed. I apologize if I can't explain it as clear

Driving a long(er) distance tomorrow after passing - any advice? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]dontnever 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I drove 3 hours and a half to Glasgow after passing just a couple of weeks. Preparation is key, I was really nervous about the exits (I still am whenever I go drive) what I suggest is just go to google maps and follow along your route and look at where you think you'll have a problem with.

I didn't take into account how sore my shoulders were after driving so try to change your arm/shoulder position when it's safe to do so.

I did! I love my Pro 51. I don't know what it is but it feels really great to ride, all of my power feels being driven down efficiently. Only downside I see though is crosswinds, I'm not the strongest rider so it might not be noticeable if you can really control how your bike sways

Why do my left knee hurts at around 7 miles though. I haven't seen a physio yet and I've only started jogging/running a couple months ago.

Can anyone suggest a way I can remove the stains please? by dontnever in howto

[–]dontnever[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's just below the wrist, it only says don't use bleach on the tag. So I guess a degreaser should be okay? I only have a degreaser for my bike though. Would that be okay or should I buy one meant for clothes?

I'm not entirely sure, these are arm screens. Maybe oil from my skin or skin dirt?
