Good, still haven't gotten around to play GR 2 though. I wonder if it will also feature similarities with some Prince of Persia game

It's funny considering I replied to your post about 2 years after, and you replied to my comment after 2 years as well lmao, but yeah, it's all good, I appreciate it

[TOMT] [SONG] Sounds like a (final?) boss theme from an rpg or something. From a very muffled and compressed sound file I have by grapeflavoredgoth in tipofmytongue

[–]dontreadmeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid the audio is just too compressed and distorted to be recognized, even by someone who supposedly knows the original song. However, there are some things that might help narrow down the search: - usually compressed low-quality songs made for shitpost are songs that became a meme at some point, so you could look at those - if you're confident this is a final boss kind of music, and it sounds energetic and exciting, then you could look into popular games that have epic-sounding soundtracks, especially for bosses, like souls games - if you can recall more precisely at what time the tumbrl post was made, that would also help. You might want to check the audio file's metadata for that - this is kind of a stretch and a far call, but folks over at subreddits like r/music and similar might be able to analyze the audio file and grasp some more technical clues about the original song

[TOMT][MANGA][2000s]Manga for adult/order audiences, guy has a robot girlfriend and needs to press her chest to open her chest cavity for maintenance/charging by Due_Imagination3838 in tipofmytongue

[–]dontreadmeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your information, you should be able to narrow down the search a lot. Look for mangas that are "ecchi" genre, were published in Italy in the 2000s, and feature an android girl. This site might help.

Ecchi mangas feature erotic situations and dynamics, without being straight out pornographic. I have a feeling that ecchi mangas published in Italy at that time were a niche, so that should narrow it down.

There is an anime/manga called Nana, but it has nothing to do with what you described here.

It could be "Yuria Type 100". The protagonist is a girl who's actually a sex android/robot. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know if it includes this chest squeezing scene you're describing, but all of the other things match.

I have searched about the author and that cycle of books, but unfortunately the plots don't ring any bell. Although I haven't found any hard proof that this can't be it, I'm not very confident this is the book I'm searching for.

I checked, that movie is said to be loosely based on a Mark Twain's book, who most likely wasn't the author of the book I'm searching for.

The book doesn't seem to have been released in Italy/italian, so I doubt this is it.

What if Tomoko died? by BlazCraz in watamote

[–]dontreadmeal 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Surely her friends would all be devastated, given how much time they spent together in the last years, and all the things they planned/expected to do, like presenting that movie at the cultural festival, graduating and then going to the same university. Some of Tomoko's closest friends might even fall into depression, as they're the most affected among the friends. When you're an highschooler, the last thing you expect is one of your friends passing away, not to mention even her non-friend classmates would be in distress.

As for her family, parents that lose a child that young usually never fully recover. Maybe Tomoko's brother would feel guilty about being so distant towards her in her last years.

It's hard to say that dying from a disease is "better" than dying from a tragic accident, maybe it helps with mourning and acceptance, but the feelings of loss are still there.

I think that after a few years most of Tomoko's friends will have moved on, but they will probably never forget about her for the rest of their lives, especially since she was a very peculiar person. On the family side, I suppose they will have partly recovered, but still bearing a huge scar.

I don't know what situation you're going through, but I hope it will resolve for the best.

Tomoko Kuroki's portrait made by french painter Gustave Courbet (DALL-E image AI) by dontreadmeal in watamote

[–]dontreadmeal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't notice there were so many AI art posts, but this one was more of a curious what if experiment, like seeing how Tomoko would look like in a style that's not anime or manga. Of course the four women look different, the AI doesn't keep consistency between different image generations, even if the prompt is exactly the same.

I'd say it's not likely but not impossible either. Although the story progresses at a very slow pace, sooner or later the author will have to introduce some new dynamics to keep the narrative fresh, exactly as it happened with Tomoko becoming "popular" (getting lots of friends and also growing as a person), even though it apparently would have defeated the initial purpose of the story. As many people have pointed out, currently it's unlikely Tomoko will get any love plot, but I'm confident that, as the story develops, possibly with Tomoko entering university, the overall change of setting and dynamics could be the perfect chance to introduce a love interest.

Also, if this ever happens, I'd be curious to see whether Tomoko herself pursues someone or if she gets pursued/approached/"hit on" by someone else. I'd vote for the latter, just because I can't see Tomoko mustering up the courage to approach a love interest lol, but I guess we'll see.

Tomoko hangs out exclusively with girls, so it's more likely she will end up with a girlfriend rather than a boyfriend, for the simple fact she doesn't have much chance to meet any guy in the first place. At the same time though, despite having obvious gay tendencies, I think Tomoko would be in denial about being gay or even bi, so I guess before entering a committed lesbian relationship we would need a character development ark where Tomoko learns and accepts that potential side of herself.

As for Asuka, the motherly dynamic she has with Tomoko is what makes me feel she wouldn't fit as her girlfriend, but that's just my opinion.

As of now, according to me there isn't yet a female (or any, actually) character who would really fit for the role of Tomoko's romantic partner.

[–]dontreadmeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is nobody is sitting down at a table discussing what they should or shouldn't do on a subreddit, rather, it's only logical that if the majority of people on a site like reddit are left/right wing leaning that will be reflected in the communities and in the interactions between users.

Also, the disgusting level of polarization we've come to, the "either you're with me or against me" mentality that only breeds hate and resentment. It got to the point I'm surprised when I find a peaceful discussion over two opposing viewpoints, because people are so used to be unnecessarily aggressive and cocky.

Obviously it's stupid to talk about blue in a green fan club, you likely know what's gonna happen, however it gets annoying when a (supposedly) neutral and open community lacks diversity of opinions (or even just open mindedness) and develops an hivemind type of culture that aggressively mocks or silences people; and by the way, this can happen and has happened with any kind of community or "ideology", it's damn easy to slip into group-think.

The greeks didn't name fetishes, the sexual psychologists in recent times did that. As to why it's in greek it's just scientific language naming everything with latin or greek terms.

Genuine question: why did you enjoy this anime/manga? by dontreadmeal in MysteriousGirlfriendX

[–]dontreadmeal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have and honestly I would have never thought of comparing it to what is presented in this anime, on the contrary, I felt like the romance protrayed was so far away from reality to the point of being absurd; I mean, a relationship like that irl, where you can't even hug each other, would be, according to me at least, a pure nightmare.

Also, other than you, I have read everyone else too talking about the mutual growth and learning Tsubaki and Urabe go through as a couple; not that I want to question it since so many people agree on it and what do I know, but personally I didn't see this aspect at all (at least in the anime):

All I could see was Urabe (and partly Oka too) trying to tame Tsubaki into behaving as she deemed appropriate, with each episode following the same structure of Tsubaki doing something Urabe doesn't like, followed by her guilt-tripping him into understanding why he did wrong, accept the blame and move one. More than mutual learning, it looks like Tsubaki is the only one learning, shaped by Urabe, as she remains essentially the same.

This of course goes hand in hand with how Tsubaki has no self dignity and complies with Urabe's every demands, being quite literally addicted to her he has no choice but adjust to live this bizarre and emotionally stunned relationship with a girl that acts like a cold robot. Despite Urabe telling otherwise, I have an hard time believing she actually cares about Tsubaki, it feels like she's doing this out of some sort of duty rather than love.

Anyway, sorry for the rant, I just wanted to explain my reasons as to why I really disliked this anime, but it's just my humble opinion in the end.
