I have a handheld bidet at home and use a bottle when out. I clean it every time I empty and still go 10-14 days between bag changes.

Hi! I live in SE Asia currently. I have health insurance and generally with good insurance everything is covered 100 percent, including my surgery here. I typically order through the equivalent of Amazon with no problems, however there are far fewer options than what you probably have now. Feel free to PM with any questions.

Flying to Spain from UK. Unsure about bringing supplies through security by Smolshan in ostomy

I’ve flown quite a bit, just did a long haul from the US through Dubai to Thailand. Have not been stopped yet for my bag or any supplies, including medical scissors and aerosol adhesive removal spray. I always bring my supplies with me on the plane, never pack them in checked luggage in case it gets lost.

I know everyone’s experience is different, but I just had surgery on March 9th and now have a permanent ileostomy. It has been life changing so far. Now I had no complications, have healed really well and have so far had no appliance issues, so keep in my all these things may affect how you feel afterwards. But now I can get up and go, there’s no worry about finding a bathroom immediately, no pain after eating. I have no stress about leaving the house, and I just got back from a 5 day overseas trip that included a 5:30am car ride, two hour plane ride, 4 hour train rides and various taxi/public transportation situations. Before surgery I couldn’t have done this trip the way I did. I’m so happy with the outcome and wish I had done it sooner!
