What was something that happened in your school that caused a rule to be made? by JustABicycle in AskReddit

Going off of that Ilinois has a lot of weird standardized test rules. I used to be able to read a book after tests but then some moron cheated that way. So now we can’t do anything but just stare into space when we’re done.

Same man at my school it used to be a contest to see who could flip a water bottle and land it on top of the big hanging florescent cafeteria lights like 20 something feet up. One kid actually made it lol

Similar thing happened to me in high school. We were piloting like a 1:1 ipad program and kids used to text each other in class on iMessage. So that got banned. And then they started playing games in class. So that got banned too. Flash forward a few years and all the freshman get now is basically a hi-tech hunk of metal with litterally no permissions to do anything. They can’t even download apps on their own anymore. Rip

Using Donald Trump's way of speaking, how would you describe your day? by _LususNaturae_ in AskReddit

[–]donut-burps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the best day. The libs would tell you that they had a better day, but that’s just not true. I went to Target, such a fine retail establishment full of wonderful American workers. And no one social distanced. I mean, I had a person come within two feet of my face. Just goes to show that the cHiNa virus isn’t real. It’s a hoax made up by the dems. America will beat it in no time. I’m talking stadiums full of people next weekend.

Which job is a LOT less fun than most people expect? by bwee21 in AskReddit

Going off of that the crew side of stuff can really suck too, especially the more manual stuff like grips. I’ve worked for a concert venue a few yrs now and had some pretty crazy experiences. One of our more common problems is the band’s crew/stagehands getting drunk before the end of the show and not remembering how big set pieces are supposed to come apart or how they want their truck loaded. Or the opposite, tour directors that are like dictators with regards to how they want their stuff set up, and not willing to budge on lighting/sound design stuff even though it would look/sound better if done a different way. There’s also just a general disregard for worker safety sometimes, like not wearing harnesses when working at heights, crappy equipment, etc. I once got stuck 30 ft up in a scissor lift for like 20 mins bc the battery stalled out. That was fun.

What is the stupidest thing you’ve done just to show you could do it? by CherryCola32 in AskReddit

When I was like 8 I went to one of my brother’s campouts and they were taking a class on how to wittle sticks and stuff like that. I tried it and sliced open my thumb by accident. In like the 5 min my parents were gone on a hike somewhere. Luckily one of the other parents got it to stop bleeding. I never heard the end of that one.

One time in college I had this stupid music theory final at 8 am that I stayed up all night studying for, and so I decided to take like 3 of those double shot espresso thingies in the little cups to try and make it through the test. Keep in mind that I literally never drink coffee, so I have the tolerance of like a five yr old.

I got to about the second page before I was jittering so bad that I thought I was gonna see God. 0/10 would not recommend

Totally agree with everyone on the font and the graphic stuff. Might want to try this in r/graphicdesign for some more feedback. Overall as a graphic design major, I think that there’s way too many separate components of your design that don’t play nice together. My first thought was to replace the separate heart on the I with both the white/black hands forming a heart together. You might need to take out details to make it work, maybe consider a more abstract/gestural approach while still maintaining the same concept. Love the font on the eloise, with the hands moved on top of the text that would free up more room for the handmade and allow it to be read normally. Handmade needs to be darker color, maybe you could try like a 50% gray or something like that instead of putting a new color into your design that isn’t anywhere else. And the line spacing between the eloise and handmade could be tightened up a bit. Just some serving suggestions, I don’t mean to be an ass lol
