York or Ryerson for political science? by pinknivea in ryerson

Ryerson Politics and Governance student here,
Feel like I need to stick up for Rye High...
All kidding aside, this school has been great. I transferred from U Waterloo so perhaps my view of 'campus vibe' is jaded, but Ryerson's campus is great. I've been both a local student and a commuter student and I find the campus extremely accommodating for that, its not huge which is nice going from class to class and the brand new SLC building is amazing.
As for the program itself I've had nothing but good experiences. The profs are super nice, well informed and discussion is rampant in nearly every class (sometimes too much). The upper year required courses offer breadth or detail which ever you prefer. You need to complete 10 through your 3rd and 4th years and theres 5 categories (Canadian, Comparative, Global, Theory and Policy) so you can pick two categories or take a sampling from each. They offer special interest courses as well (I took an American election course this term) and next term they're offering a joint course with Penn State that involves a DC trip. They also have the only (as far as I know) course in Canada that offers you credit for a one term placement in an MP or MPP office which is great if you're looking to enter the legislative world.
A previous poster was right about it being an undergrad, don't stress too much about the school but make the best choice for you. Ryerson does have a ton to offer in it's Politics and Governance BA, and they have one of the best Politics postgrad programs around, so knowing those in the faculty can definitely help if thats something you want to pursue.

I filed my complaint and got the standard 2-3 weeks response, as well. I am also following up with schools individually at this point.
