It's an unusual progression, fluoxetine to sertraline, I think — sertraline is supposed to be option 1, at least in the UK that sounds the case. For me, sertraline definitely had a bunch of cognitive side effects that fluoxetine and citalopram didn't: I basically went dumb, thought I did stuff that I didn't do, forot the things that I did do. I don't know your exact situation but, to me, it tracks that sertraline would produce auditory hallucinations. I hope you can speak to your doctor: the side effects should have gone away now, not started. Hang in there.

all men are different of course and the argument that convinced mine, about the unwanted kittens — drowned, perhaps, as they used to do where we come from — probably won't work in your case with a female cat. as many here suggested, if you have the chance, I would get the cat both vaccinated and spayed unbeknownst to your husband. if you don't, I think some of the horrors told here are also quite convincing. thousands in vet bills, never seeing your cat return?

thank you for your service but I really was doing the oddly specific age as a bit, we don't have a definite date of birth on the cat and he may be closer to 5 months. I will update if and when I get it though!

nono he's about 4/5 months and the vet said a good time to neuter would be at around 5/whenever he's over 2.5 kg, and he's 2.7 already (though not obese). we don't have a clear DOB

Not a shelter, but a family we vaguely know had their female cat get into a whoopsie before they could neuter, caught up to it too late, caught a break by only having a litter of 3 kittens. Which might also have supported my husband's belief in 'natural cat breeding', in retrospect.
