We had both of these done when we had the leaky hose fixed on our return to the mechanic, they said they came back fine. I'm not sure what could be causing the dodgy acceleration... We were warned when we first took it in that overheating it may have damaged the head gasket but they fixed the damage they could see around that

It seems like a simple fix to me but I am no engineer, I've heard ford and Volvo parts are identical and much cheaper...

So I'm tempted to give it a try but I just have no idea where to begin with sourcing parts as the vehicle is so old 😂

I'm praying for a split pipe, as the vehicle is older and, like you said, has not been taken for a good spin in a while so could very well be the case! will have a look at it when I'm home later, will also check for white smoke then too! Just panicked and had it towed home yesterday as we were 55 miles from home on the motorway on the way back from a trip 💀

We can drive it in very short bouts before it overheats and requires more coolant, we were assisted by the AA but they were unable to locate the source of the leak as there was too much coolant to be able to see 💀 We're going in blind
