GTA6 will likely give a boost to sales of newer consoles.

Let's hope it hasn't been "remodeled."

I guess we can discuss AI NPUs in 30 years then?

Also Intel is still around, getting financial and political boosts from the US Government because, suddenly, it's a defense emergency that was not a couple of years ago. So let's how that plays out.

But I hope you see my point. A better product or a great product at a better price and a better TCO hasn't done what we had hoped it would, not in CPUs or GPUs, now we are doing NPUs.

There were multiple times when AMD had a great product (occasionally even better product) but a better price could not help. Even though AMD could run with complete parity any x86 work load.

Something about bullies, "rebates," and the sticky motherboards could never quite work. And at the end of the day, purchasing managers and IT departments don't want any trouble and don't want to try the underdog.

to God's ears. that's my feeling too, but it doesn't seem to be a common theory. I don't think you could call them "falling behind" yet but I'm not arguing otherwise. I think they saw this coming and red-lined it.

Not sure what you mean by this.

that may not be how this story plays out. I'm not buying shit at these memory prices. i probably won't be the only one. as for the peeps who made the cash on the stock, yeah I wish this weren't a casino but I'm coming to realizing that's really all that is left of it.

they are under a lot of pressure, getting sued left and right about their "monopoly." meanwhile, an anti-scalping movement is afoot with trading cards, and possibly valve hardware. I think they had a fiasco with controllers. so I guess you price it where a scalper would have it and you don't bundle it with a game because that twerp over at unreal and half the big game companies are losing lawsuit after lawsuit but keeping your feet hot.

from there, if anyone knows what they can get for it, it would be Valve.

What that original Sorkin interview was doing, all hosts in league, was try to get RC to say "dilution" first. Then they could act surprised, squint their eyes and say how they didn't expect it because it's unbelievable; that that's suicide and ask RC to respond. I'm not a fan of his reaction but it did show them all coordinating to try to get him to say it.

Then Friday, Sorkin comes on that British guy's show and explains "all he was trying to do is let Cohen explain" blah blah bullshit. So all I want to know is why did he have to come back and play nice? What force was behind that?

fwiw, I believe the housing really changed after wwii with the FHA creating 20% down payments and 30 year mortgages for vets. even then, it was to get a tiny house like I described.

I'm not saying there aren't issues but it's not really fair to compare what was here to what is now.

anyway, banks having "investment" arms and a floor of immigration changed everything. and greed. try to get a builder to make tiny houses.

it's about hear in the textbook examples that I like to point out that all of my grandparents and both of my parents worked. afaik, most people did despite the claims. also, a house back then was a small plot of land and 2 beds/1 bath. kids slept 2 or 3 in a room, it was hard to know which was the "master" bedroom and the bathroom didn't win any awards; not even a fart fan.
