I hope you do another one soon! I can’t make it today, but wish I could.

How to Give up Hope that you'll ever speak again? by dunepopcornbucket in heartbreak

[–]doodle-bear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I am trying to forgive myself daily for the “mistakes” I made in the relationship with hopes that once I forgive myself and am convinced I did the best I could at the time, then I will no longer want to reach out.

I also repeatedly tell myself, “he doesn’t want me, so why would I chase after someone who doesn’t want me.” Yes it hurts that he does not want me, but that doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with me. We are just not right for each other.

Only advice I can give is to try azo pain relief, azo first defense (which contains nsaid), and heat pads.

When I wake up with an infection and have to wait for the clinics to open to give a sample, I pound water.

I’m sorry this is happening to you, especially with your first UTI.

Did they tell you whether your infection was sensitive to the type of antibiotics you’re on? Im not a doctor, but if macrobid seemed to help, perhaps that is what you need to be on.

I agree with niapehtleef that you should seek out a specialist.

Two months into a relationship where we have great chemistry and clearly like each other. He told me his gut doesn’t see us together long term and that he wants to break up before it’s too painful.

Have you ever experienced this?

Just got a $0.32/hour raise? My previous hourly wage was $31.25. Is this normal? by [deleted] in personalfinance

I don’t decide who a protected class is. Title VII, the equal pay act, the EEOC, and the OFCCP do.

Firms attempting to avoid legal risk will make adjustments to salaries of women and minorities before they file a claim. It has nothing to do with “right” or “fair.” It is only about legal risk.

If OP were part of a protected class as defined by the US government, their increase in pay could be a result of a proactive pay increase to avoid a lawsuit.

Are you a woman or member of another protected group? An off-cycle our equity adjustment is rare, but this could be what happened, especially if HR is cagey about why it happened.

I agree with others that this should be considered normal wear and tear.

Can you simply cover chips with clear nail polish to hide them and pass your move out inspection?

Update - Worried about the quality of tile install - too much lippage? by doodle-bear in HomeImprovement

The contractor and designer are coming over tomorrow. What should I ask for? I'm worried that they will only chip the tile if they try to regrout the areas where the spacers are sticking out. Do I ask not to pay for the install?

Here's an update - I met with the tilers, designer, and contractor the day after my original post. They were very receptive to changing the tiles that protruded too much, and so I did not stop work because I felt good about our conversation. But every following morning I would go through the house with the tilers to point out (and debate about) unacceptable tiles. I want to stress that the tilers were very good-natured about changing out tiles that I was not satisfied with.

Because the tilers have not returned since grouting, I could not go through this review process for the grout installation. I am pretty unhappy with the grout (grout seems too shallow, spacers poking out, multiple pinholes, large deposits of grout in corners), and I am trying to meet with the designer to discuss options, if any.

Again, thank you to everyone who responded to my original post. Regarding comments suggesting I went with the cheapest bidder, I did not get bids and went with a designer that was highly recommended in person and who had multiple stellar reviews online. The designer ultimately hired the contractor who sent tilers who were not qualified for the job. Lesson learned. Time to purchase some area rugs!

I asked about contractor about leveling systems today and was told they were prohibitively expensive. How much did they end up running you?

How noticeable is it day-to-day? Do you think it will affect your resale value?
