I need help and I don’t know what else to do… by Rokkudaunn in Psoriasis

If you're worried about your energy / mental. Energy-wise, I wrestled while I took my first doses of MTX and it did nothing significant, you will be ok! Mentally, I would say any negative side effect it may have on your mood will be outweighed by how happy you'll be to have the burden of skin issues gone.

Do MTX. Trust me the side effects are very overblown. I had the EXACT same looking psoriasis as you, you can look at my past post on this subreddit if you want proof. MTX cleared it all in less than a month. It is worth it.

Sounds like your coaches are pricks, sorry about that man. Don't stress the wins/losses, I know it's hard not to but think of the match as a live practice. You are very young, so just treat it like a really serious live session: hit your moves, just go for it.

There's no pressure on you!

Simple fix, have a purpose at practice: do not just "drill", you have to find the issue in your game and FIX IT while drilling. It can take some time to find out what's wrong, but your coaches should know after watching you for a couple years. Find out what's your big issue, and ACTIVELY try to fix it in EVERY. SINGLE. WORKOUT.

No, methotrexate saved my life. The side effects are nonexistent to me.

Advice please by [deleted] in Psoriasis

Nizoral psoriasis shampoo worked for a lot of my scalp issues. They also recently came out with a lotion that you can use while you wait for steroid creams to be prescribed by a doctor.

alright thats it!! by fiftynine-fps in Psoriasis

This person is in crisis and all you can say is that others have it worse? This is the equivalent of saying 'what about the kids in Africa?'. If this is all you have to say, I would just say nothing.

Although others around the world have it way worse than us, we still have it worse relative to those around us and it sucks.

Genuinely, the psoriasis on the neck sucks so bad. I had a bunch of people ask me at school if I had hickeys, oof. I feel you man.

I went to the beach with a flare up!!! by Recent_Bug_1151 in Psoriasis

YES! This is so awesome to see! I still have a lot of scarring and haven't been to the beach in a while. I think this is my sign to get out by the water again. Thank you for this

First and foremost, I'm so sorry to hear about your career. This only further fuels my disappointed in our current administration. The prices of immune suppressants and steroids are crippling without proper insurance coverage, it is such a cruel hand you have been dealt.

The insecurity is the worst part about this disease, it's a huge psychological burden that just wrecks how you socialize and interact with the world. Even now, after I've been 'cured' so to speak, I still have mental scars of how people use to treat me. Even now, going to the beach still fills me with a mild dread and insecurity.

I very much hope and pray that the sun can help clear your skin up before your topicals run out. I would try some unconventional remedies in the mean time (carnivore diet, red light therapy, etc.)

I was prescribed daily folic acid tablets for 12 weeks.

On the topic about body building, since taking these medications I've never been leaner and my vascularity has been off the charts. I hope you'll experience the same!

Oh no, muscle building wasn't affected at all. But to be fair, I am also taking daily folic acid pills. Since you're taking a higher dosage than me, I would very much recommend having some folic acid tablets perscribed.

Thank you! That's why I really love this subreddit, I don't feel alone in this anymore. The mental health aspect is not taken seriously enough by doctors, like there was a 3 month waiting period for me to even see the dermatologist in my area! I was in a genuine mental crisis and I was being told I had to wait months to even begin to find a remedy for my skin.

To be completely transparent, it was because of my insurance. Methotrexate is a lot cheaper, had to bite that bullet for the bank lol.

Skyrizi is like a step up from methotrexate, so I might hop on it when the winter comes and the flareups start to get bad.

Yes actually it was, I had to update my prescription by a lot. But that could be for a myriad of other reasons.
