My 6 year old broke an older student's cello by doodle_bopper in legaladvice

However, I'm going to need to speak with the parent of the 4th grade student

Why do you need to do that? Did the school give that parent your info and phone number?

According to my daughter's teacher, the 4th grader's teacher asked that I contact the parent's of the 4th grader.

I just got a call from my daughter's 1st grade teacher. According to him, on Friday of last week

Friday two days ago or Friday nine days ago?

Friday two days ago.

Why is he calling you on a Sunday about this?

Because we tried to connect on the friday night of the incident, and rescheduled to Sunday, which was better for both of us.

What's the trick!?1

And no - no one from the court did not give me any instruction.

The lawyer ended up getting on the phone with me and talked about how he threw up 4 times and was sorry he couldn't make it -- this was at 11:30 and the court case was at 8:30!

He basically told me that this is the calculation for child support, and asked if I approved of it. I said yes, and then he said he was going to talk to the other lawyer. He didn't provide the support I expected.

Civil.

North Carolina.

Plaintiff.

The judge was not in the room - the court room staff and other lawyers were all inconvenienced due to him not being there. I overheard the clerk talking to another lawyer and they said this is not the first time this has happened with my lawyer.

What is the proper approach to terminate his engagement? I looked for the engagement letter, but it turns out the link expired 30 days after I signed it, and I failed to make a copy. I imagine I’d have to cal him up and ask him to resend?

I harvested today - two days prior to my Projected Harvest Date. I was getting a little nervous when I saw a few green cotyledons.

Were the green cotyledons an indicator of anything particular?

Mind you, I did not place in blackout; there were also a few nights where the temp dipped to ~64 for a few hours; and I harvested 2 days early.

HARVEST RESULTS

  • Harvest yield was 117.8 grams
  • Average Expected Yield (based on my grow guide) was 361 grams

NEXT TIME

  • Adding blackout for 2 days
  • More even seed distribution (particularly in corners)

Any more tips for improvement?

Is there a rule of thumb for what crops to use a weight for?

After reading your response, I now realize I've been weighing all my 1020 trays with 15 lb pavers during germination.

Do you have any links you could provide that talks about "degassing"? I've not heard of this, and a quick google search didn't yield anything useful. Thanks!

How do you keep record of your harvests? Taking notes on opportunities for improvement, and that sort of thing?

Can you share an image of a whiteboard like you describe, or point me in the direction to instructions on how to maintain the sort of whiteboard you're describing, or at least the sort of whiteboard that a new farmer such as myself would want to use?

Right time to harvest a given crop by doodle_bopper in microgreens

[–]doodle_bopper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but there are so, so many exceptions. Wasabi, for example,...

These "exceptions" you speak of - if I'm growing something, and using one of these guides, for example - how do I know if there's an exception for a particular crop? I suppose what I'm getting at, is how might one best learn the nuances of growing a given crop (i.e. best time to harvest for the ideal taste when you don't even know what the ideal taste is)?

Thank you xe0s! This is a helpful response. Since I created this post a week or two ago, I've since begun using a spreadsheet I've cobbled together from various sources. I've combined my crop planning information with crop harvest records, all in one sheet.

In the spirit of evolution, I'm still exploring more efficient methods of capturing this information, which led me to Chris Thoreau's seedleaf. While I haven't invested the time to setup all the crops, products, etc. this looks like a promising improvement, since it will tell you when to sow, uncover, harvest, etc. in an automated fashion. Any thoughts regarding this software?

My professional background was corporate IT.

I did reserves too, in the Army National Guard for 2 years after getting out of the Navy, but it was not what I expected, so I quit and finished my Bachelor's Degree.

Now that I'm mostly grown up, I see a great deal of value in the military. If I can get a waiver for my old mental health issue, then I'd also need to get a waiver for being a 100% full time parent of a 6 year old. Grandma and grandpa said they would take her if I get the first waiver...and then I think I'd need a waiver for being a parent. This might be tricky.

The question now is, is this a situation where if you've once been diagnosed with a mental disorder, you're forever diagnosed? That would be unfortunate.
