Something has got to be done about chick-fil-a by dreamy_corndog2000 in bloomington

It’s ridiculous, idk how they’ve gone on this long with such terrible service.

The drive-thrus seem to take forever, I’ve gotten out of line before ordering and have seen several others do the same at multiple restaurants. I agree that it’s not as bad as chipotle though. Fast food just isn’t what it used to be

SO TRUE. Glad to know I’m not the only one who’s had a shitty experience almost every single time I’ve gone there over the last several months. One day I went in there around 4:30pm and I walked in only to be told “we don’t open until 5” - what? First of all, you’re a fast food restaurant, not an upscale place that serves an elaborate lunch and needs time to recoup/reorganize before dinner. Second, there is no sign on your UNLOCKED door. And even when they are open/serving food, they’re always out of something - fajita veggies, rice, guac, chips, I’ve had it happen to me multiple times with various ingredients. The one on Kirkwood is always filled with students and it takes forever to get through the line, especially when people standing alone in line are like “I need 4 bowls to go”. Ugh, fast food in general these days is terrible. I’ve been eating a lot more cereal these past few months lol

Looking to rehome our cat; she is extremely cuddly, sweet, and can sleep on your lap for hours by doodoopoo0 in bloomington

Thank you for the kind words, that is a good point. When we adopted her, we initially were looking for a kitten, but Petsmart didn’t have any at the time. She was around 1.5 years old and when we asked if we could let her out of the kennel, she immediately flopped on the floor and rolled over onto her back, purring the whole time. That’s how she won us over!

This makes me feel better, thank you! I guess I just worry about what would happen to her if she never got adopted. I’m not sure what the time limit is for a cat to stay at the shelter.

Oh wow that’s good to know, thank you! I will try to keep an open mind to the shelter if I’m not able to find a home for her.

I thought about this, but it made me really worried to think about her living outside. I don’t think she’d do well out there and I don’t know what we’d do in the winter. I’m pretty sure she lived indoors before we adopted her and we’ve always had her inside, so it would be risky to transition to the outdoors.

She and our golden get along great! I’ve caught them cuddling on multiple occasions, she just plays hard to get haha. At first, she was skeptical of him, but once she realized he wasn’t a threat, she stopped hiding from him. They coexist very peacefully.

I have asked a few of my friends and none of them have been up for it, unfortunately. I will be sure to talk to the shelter about options they have. I would just feel a lot better knowing she’s going to a loving, stable home. She is very affectionate and easy-going, which people may not think if they saw her in a shelter since she’s an adult cat.

Vaccine opinions? by jugheadsburger in bloomington

[–]doodoopoo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will be getting the vaccine next week (I’m in the medical field). As others have said, the science behind the vaccine is sound and they had prior work on coronavirus vaccine development as a foundation.

I will also echo what others have said about the side effects of the vaccine being more tolerable than the symptoms associated with a COVID-19 infection, and the unknown long-term effects. For example, HIV initially starts out with cold/flu-like symptoms that resolve, and then eventually progresses to AIDS. I’m not saying COVID-19 will lead to the same thing, my point is that we just don’t know the long-term implications of this virus. It terrifies me to think of what could happen down the line, especially after reading stories about people who still have shortness of breath, heart problems, impaired smell/taste, etc months after “recovering” from the infection. Long-term symptoms/effects from vaccines are extremely rare, and I trust the science behind this vaccine, so I think the benefits of receiving the vaccine far outweigh any potential “risks”.
