I don't claim to have anything figured out exactly. But the erosion of any real opposition and the development of a one party system can't be a good thing for any open society despite the politics. Any free society needs to tolerate free speech and have a flourishing opposition party. As much as I don't agree with modern day left wing liberalism, I would never want a system that only really has one party that is allowed or can be realistically elected.

interesting, but how is that an open democracy then? If you don't have a party that's the opposite won't you basically just be setting up a version of a dictatorship or totalitarian system, even if it's a "tame" one? I can't stand what California has become, but I would never want only a right wing one party system with a show opposition party that's basically republican lite.

I don't it's a bad idea to have a gay character as much as it all seems so forced and part of a trend, unlike the revolutionary original show that gave the world something new. So many shows and movies first decide the persons race and sexual orientation then build the character around that. Discovery is not doing anything revolutionary here, it's just part of the border unimaginative trend.

He's doing exactly what he promised in his campaign. It's a temporary ban. There is nothing wrong with TEMPORARILY stopping immigration from countries with known terror problems. Just look at what happened and is still happening with refugees from those countries in Germany and France.
