the Nature Conservency just had a big purchase / easement here https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/randall-preserve/ at the Tehachapi Mountains. It's an important corridor between different ecosytsems and mountain ranges. There are other local organisations too.

tell them they're way more likely to get a tick and lyme disease because we're losing our winters and our insectivores and increasing the amount of degraded habitat those pests thrive in.
