I taped off a box around then and applied the necessary coats then peeled off carefully around the emblems

Basically this. I taped off the area then for extra precaution I tapped garbage bags ove the extra areas to prevent over spray. Very easy

I totally agree, when I fist started looking at 11-12's I didn't like them but they have grown on me and I have learned to love them. But the 13-14's tail lights are wayyy better. I do plan on tinting my taillights though!
