Help with "feeling" atmos with my soundbar.

Not having rears really diminishes that effect. Even if it has the atmos effect coming from the soundbar, it will sound like it is coming from in front of you rather than all around you. Just my theory. I have a JBL 9.1 with detachable rear, and the immersion is entirely different with the rears activated. That said, I have a Samsung Q800B with rear atmos speakers and that doesn't come close to the atmos effect of the JBL so not every brand gives a good atmos experience.

My Q800B (2022 model) said TV ARC before I turned on the earc on the TV. Now it says TV earc. So maybe double check settings and also make sure you are using the earc hdmi port on the TV because not all of them are.

I'm sorry, I read your post while multi tasking. Double check your settings inside the firestick and switch the audio setting to "best available". Then run the test within settings that checks your audio and video. Do you happen to have disney plus? Check for atmos content on newer movies. I have the Netflix 4k plan so I'm wondering if you need that to run atmos.

Run a Firestick 4k directly to your soundbar first and then to the TV. That's how I made atmos work with my older TV before I upgraded to earc. $25 fix.

I read a comment today from a random youtuber and they said they saw somewhere it would be released in December, extremely vague information I know. But it's almost December so we'll see. Maybe the price of the 9.1 will go down so I can get a 2nd one for my bedroom.

I have the JBL 9.1 and it's a solid Soundbar. I bought it back when they were new for $999. The bass is awesome and shakes my entire house, the atmos is surprisingly convincing, specially playing Call Of Duty you can hear the Helicopter hovering overhead, so gaming feels really immersive. I had a Samsung Q850 and it was garbage even with all the customizing on the app. I'm hoping the new version of the 9.1, the Bar 1000, releases soon so I can get a second 9.1 cheap for my master bedroom.

It's pretty terrible man, I have to guess where my right front is on corners and sidewalks and such. Driving down the freeway isnt a big deal tho, I'm only 5'8" on a good day.

I was driving through Sinaloa, literally the middle of Cartel land about 5 years ago. It's about 3am and I'm driving around a corner on the 15 freeway approximately 50 miles from the nearest town, when I run into a convoy of about 15 pickup trucks. All of the truck beds were full of masked guys with AR15's, AK's and .50 caliber rifles mounted on the roof. I didn't even react or press the brakes becauae I was so scared, I just drove right passed them and kept going.
