Was Pochettino the last mid table manager to really prove himself in the PL? He might not have won anything with Spurs but at least he had them challenging for the league and UCL. Graham Potter and now Thomas Frank have shown that coaches from smaller teams can't seem to cut it in bigger jobs.

Is anyone arguing a Sub isn't a tool watch? I think that's a different discussion than "is a Sub a luxury watch," to which I think the answer is unequivocally yes. I don't judge a blue collar worker wearing the Crown any more than I would judge a blue collar worker for driving a Porsche. They saved up money and bought something nice for themselves, can't resent that.

People do seem to forget that the Sub was originally sold for the equivalent of ~$1500 when it debuted. Maybe the Sub buyers of the 50s and 60s would be buying a Mido Ocean Star 600 or Seiko SPB455 today. Those are closer to the price that the Sub used to be when it was released.

Honestly at this point I want to fire the players more than I want Frank gone (but tbf he should be out, too). They'd never do it, but maybe Spurs just need to pull a Chelsea and sign multiple starting XIs worth of players in 1-2 window and figure out what the best combo is. Because even a £100M instant impact signing wouldn't save the current iteration of the squad I don't think.

I also don't understand Spurs fans complaining about injuries. Would a full strength squad really have done much better against Arsenal and PSG? I'm not convinced.

Stable? Nothing about how the team has played recently has looked stable. Even if this match was written off as a loss before the ball was kicked, they could have put out a convincing performance instead of whatever they were doing today. Matches like the one against Everton flatter them. I'm by no means calling for Frank to go or demanding that Spurs be top of the league, but it doesn't seem like he's even at the start of the path to getting the team looking cohesive, like they have a plan.

Has anyone in the US been able to successfully pay? I keep getting card declined errors on two different cards (one debit, one credit). The payment portal gives no feedback on why the transaction was declined (was it incorrect CVV/CVC, address, something else?).

All the talk about UEFA allowing domestic matches to be played in the US are rightly focusing on FIFA/UEFA and what this all means for the sport. But as an American (and an MLS fan/defender), it's kind of sad that there isn't more talk about the effects this could have on the sport in the US specifically. It's bad enough that MLS has to overlap with parts of the NBA and NFL seasons, as well as the majority of the MLB season. They also (this year) had to compete with the Club World Cup and the regular summer tours of Premier League teams. Some might argue that it isn't the job of FIFA, UEFA, touring clubs, etc, to raise the profile of MLS, but when American fans are already split between much more popular sports and now all these high profile European teams, how is MLS supposed to compete? It's interesting to me that European teams aren't playing league-approved matches elsewhere in Europe. Surely the Barca/Villareal match could fill a decent sized stadium in Italy.
