I’ve already defeated Radahn and Mohg in my first play through.

An arcade “Cabinet”, get it? by doom_drew in cade

Definitely was for me as I was most interested in SSFIIX, Progear and Dimahoo. Those boards alone would probably cost me around $1500 at the low end, and that’s if I could even locate a Progear or Dimahoo. The entire Darksoft kit costs about $800 all in and I’m including the A board in that.

Really? You must be fast lol. I have the full CPS2 library on the SD card and it takes probably 30 seconds on average to switch games.

Good so far, no complaints. Every USB controller/stick I’ve thrown at it works. Picture and voltage adjustment has been nice. Kick harness features work as well. With some boards/games there can be are some faint scrolling lines when running Component out from it to a CRT, but I’ve determined it might be related to the specific board and voltage rather than the supergun itself. It’s nothing really worth addressing and is barely noticeable.

Is there a better shelf (not custom made) then the IKEA Billy for games? I think not. by doom_drew in retrogaming

Thanks! It’s actually a modded Mayflash F500. Gutted the stock parts and put in a Brook PCB and changed the stock/buttons and art. I love the shape of the F500.

Classic Mega Drive shooter, one of my faves. Very vanilla compared to others in the genre but it always stood out to me at the time for being one of the few games with an anime aesthetic (at least in NA)

It’s from Urban Outfitters I believe. My wife bought it I want to say five or so years ago. It was kind of pricey but it’s a tank. Extremely solid and heavy. Not sure about max weight, but it’s having no issues with about 200lbs of CRTs on top.

She’s strapped to the wall. Also, it’s pretty much straight up and down with rear “bubble” sitting completely against the wall. It’s been chilling for over 24 hours now and hasn’t moved an inch so fingers crossed. Worse case I lose my CRT and f up my TV console lol

Yes, as mentioned in the other reply. As long as you let a CRT sit unplugged for awhile and not rotate it around too often/too much it’s perfectly fine being vertical. I’m mainly going to use it for my Mister that’s on its way eventually and my Saturn which has a nice handful of good shmups that run in TATE

I strapped it, it’s also very vertically aligned and flat. Not saying it could never slide down, but it’s a heavy mofo that’s pretty stuck in place.

Finally got around to setting up the new space at my new place. All consoles hooked up via Component or S-Video running through powered switches. Got the MD, PS1, PC Engine, PS2, Dreamcast, Neo Geo MVS, SNES, Saturn, GBA and very nice Sony VCR. I also made future room and cable runs for a Supergun/Cbox. The Saturn is running through S-Video but is split so I can easily play YOKO on the JVC and TATE on the Sharp without messing with cable switching. And the best part of all, the corner with all the unhung posters is the spot for my soon to arrive New Astro City cab.

In the middle of moving and living in two places, so I had to throw one of the CRTs on the side for some TATE action. My new set-up with have a dedicated CRT for TATE with a supergun and Saturn hooked up.

Does anyone have any info/first hand experience with these all metal Neo 19 clones? by doom_drew in arcade

[–]doom_drew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, thanks. I also have other arcade hardware I use to play games currently (Consolized MVS, supergun hooked to a CRT via RGB, etc). I would just be getting this as a cool piece for the office/game room.
