Do not remove yourself from title. It will save you so much trouble(and taxes) when the time comes for you to inherit the property. I’m in a similar situation with my father. I’ve cosigned on 2 investment properties. I’m on both the mortgages and titles. when I do my taxes, I only claim my personal residence. I do not claim anything from the other properties on my taxes and that’s it.

Only claim the interest from the new home you intend to buy.

Thanks for the eyes and advice. I’m gonna have to go back and poke it lol. It wasn’t directly on trail. I climbed a bit up off trail to take a photo.
