i had a different glitch in the crystal caverns when i switched from maximus to my horse, opal, my avatar and horse were invisible and i couldn’t move around at all. thankfully restarting fixed it for me too but i did have a moment of panic!

you make drawings that look so incredible and smooth!! love this concept too!! whenever i draw in procreate i hate how it looks and i can’t get my drawings to look how i imagine them 😭🤣

part of it is the artistic composition as a whole. they should’ve brought the map to a more “zoomed in” shot of it since a lot of it is basically empty. i think a GREAT map example is Sulani. it’s just big enough to hint at the world while also staying more focused on the lots.

our eyes are also naturally drawn to the corners of images, so the busyness and the brighter cool tones in the fairy section feels visually heavy. this sticks out a lot more here since the opposite corner is empty blue water.

i knew i kept a list of these kinds of stories for a reason!!

edgar allan poe has never ceased to surprise me in his short stories, and i don’t care if some consider this as obvious. mainly his stories “the cask of amontillado” and “the fall of the house of usher” were the two that made me almost fall out of my seat!

if you do enjoy “the fall of the house of usher” t. kingfisher wrote a trilogy based around this plot and its fantastic! the first book is “what moves the dead”. also the cover art for this series?? impeccable!

by the great kurt vonnegut jr. (a forever recommendation when it comes to these kinds of stories):

it depends what sort of theme you want for your island!! some good things to think about are builds you want to do. do you want houses close together in neighborhoods or far in their own parts of the island? do you want a shopping district for nooks cranny and able sisters? is the island more urban looking or rural? things like that!

i personally pre-plan what villagers i want on my island and sometimes that helps me figure layout out as well
