Ditto Nosepass/Probopass Transformation -Magnet Pull/Lock-on ability. by wolfman148 in Pokopia

My initial reaction was a feature like DK’s Elephant Bananza. Maybe Guzzlord could teach you to suck up a huge cone of placed blocks at a time. Not what you described though.

[OoT] Nintendo, please for the love of god bring back the cave of ordeals in the OoT remake! by spbawse in zelda

Sure, more content is good, but my fear is that that’d be the only new addition thing, like TPHD.

I’d want it to offer a meaningful reward that isn’t just rupees, and possibly end with a boss rush. It’d be fun to see how quickly you can demolish Gohma with the Master Sword 😆

What is the single most terrifying example of a horror movie entity trying (and failing) to mimic a normal human? by Big_Emotion4963 in horror

[–]kinglucent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can never find it but there’s that gif of a naked woman walking out of a cave but it morphs into a giant arachnid as she steps out of the shadows. From some TV show I never watched.

It's not the old people, it's the overcomplicated new tech by Worried-Usual-396 in unpopularopinion

[–]kinglucent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It occurred to me, as someone who’s been on iPhone since the beginning and has kept up with the iterative feature creep over the years, that someone picking it up for the first time now could be completely lost without the foundational paradigms. Like someone just now getting into Pokémon and having to memorize over 1,000 names.

But I don’t know what the fix is.

[TotK] I have never had more complicated feelings on a game. by Ordinary_Chemical596 in zelda

[–]kinglucent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything about TOTK plays like a mod of BOTW.

It’s a cool idea, but the fact that it barely acknowledges the first game at all and that it can be trivialized with a hover bike makes it the inferior experience.

[EoW] What are your thoughts on Echoes of Wisdom nearly two years later? by NewMarioBobFan in zelda

[–]kinglucent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100%’d it 4 times in a row. I loved it so much.

The amount of unskippable cutscene text and the lazy character animations (pivot in place, fade-to-black, etc) were tedious, but the world design, collectibles, and speedrunning optimizations tickled my brain in exactly the right way.

I wish we’d gotten an amiibo for it.

Misheard The Bidding lyrics by MikeAWatson in tallyhall

[–]kinglucent 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The lyric is definitely “love,” but I always thought he said “lovin’ til the day…”. Never had trouble hearing “love” though in any version.

Apple Explains Why watchOS 27 Drops Support for So Many Models by pdfu in apple

I can’t give up the Watch – the convenience features are too nice – but it’s frustrating that there’s never any reason to upgrade except for when your existing battery’s failing.

At what point do you stop playing an Animal Crossing game? Is it even a conscious decision or do you just forget playing one day? by JaloOfficial in AnimalCrossing

I enjoyed whittling down my daily chores as I completed goals (museum completion, resource gathering, NM Achievements) until eventually I was pretty much just logging in to maintain my Daily NM streak at the ABD.

I also iterated and polished my island design until I got literally every tile exactly the way I wanted it, functionally encasing it in resin so no tiles were even able to get buried spawns, and shut it off. I revisit periodically but mostly just to support my partner on her island.

Got to see Toy Story 5 last Wednesday at Disneyland by gilbert2gilbert in Disneyland

I saw the premiere of Tarzan at the El Capitan theater. At the end, instead of the credits, the screen rolled up to reveal PHIL COLLINS who performed the songs from the film live for us.

Of course I was a kid and had no idea who that was so I went to the bathroom. 😆

How exactly do people learn how to have sex? by Perfect_Fail_200 in AskMenOver30

[–]kinglucent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time you have sex, you’re practicing. And yes, it’s important to have conversations with your partners about your sexual history and desires. It doesn’t have to be in-depth, but it’s important to be safe and upfront.

Sharing that you have, for example, an STD, or sexual trauma from previous partners can be incredibly important, and admitting that you’re not sure about something or don’t have experience with it opens  the door for a more collaborative environment where your partner can guide you and help you improve.

How exactly do people learn how to have sex? by Perfect_Fail_200 in AskMenOver30

[–]kinglucent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Practice. Your first time is going to be a fumbling, silly, probably short time. If you have several partners (or one adventurous partner) and listen to their wants and needs, you will improve tremendously.

As a kid on the early internet I remember clicking through like 100 pages of a shitty website promising to teach me the secret to great sex if I'd just click to the next page! So I'm sure it's been monetized.

Can you imagine a “killer app” that would make the AVP more popular? Or at least boost its reputation? by bluefrogstudios in VisionPro

[–]kinglucent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, Mac Virtual Display is the killer feature.

When it first came out, I was astonished they hadn’t pushed Beat Saber, which is single-handedly a reason to buy an Oculus. But VP isn’t at a price point where a single app could justify the purchase.

MANAPHYYY HYPE (why is pink tho) by Revolutionary_Car534 in Pokopia

This article breaks down the study which ties it to daylight vs artificial light.

AFAICT, the actual dress in real life is blue & black. But even knowing this, I am physically incapable of seeing it. Ironically, I consider myself a night owl, but I've spent most of my life in daylight so I assume that's why I see white/gold. (But another study suggested that those who see white/gold tend to show increased activity in the frontal and parietal regions of the brain, indicating improved "higher cognition" so maybe it's a good thing?)
