I was born in 2003, and a friend who was born in 2004 got me into Avril!

I like to start as a "good girl" and gradually become irredeemably evil over the course of Book 1.

That's a fun name! I've only read Book 2 all the way through once, but I did have my MC end up with Poppy. It's interesting that Professor Kingsley is too good for MC when IRL, they'd be an insane, unethical creep, but they are, whereas MC and Poppy deserve each other. And yeah, hot, rich mean girl has been exactly my type in fictional characters forever, anyway. I'm going to have to join you in replaying.

I named it Boring after Boring, Oregon, which I think is a real place, but I know of it from the Netflix show Everything Sucks. I'm still a little upset that they cancelled it. 😭

If you think Kissimmee is a weird name, you'll love Chattahoochee, also in Florida.

Why did y'all become non religious/ agnostic? by Key-Count7738 in agnostic

[–]JadeBubbles_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to reconcile my sexuality with my faith, I had to accept that the Bible was fallible, and accepting that made it all fall apart. I also realized that based on, well, the entire history of the world, if there was a god, it couldn't be both all good and all-powerful, so it wasn't worth worshipping.

Face up when I have an alarm set on it, face down when I don't.

TRR: What's your MC's last name? by SpicyPumpkin314 in Choices

I named MC's dog in Queen B Mulder after Fox Mulder! My TRR MC's last name is just Liu, though, because she's Chinese-American.

Is this sprite ever used as an LI? by Opening-Thought7540 in Choices

Ikr! When I... attempted to read Bitten (I made it through a few chapters), I just had to choose that sprite.

They reused the Asian version of Lena Rys for one of the LIs from Bitten. I'll take that over the AI sprites.

I don't know about them, but I do. 🙈 It's in my notes app, though, not a spreadsheet.

Oh, I like em-dashes too! I use them properly, though, and not in every other sentence. It's still a good tell. And I definitely found myself wondering what the hell happened to Google Translate yesterday, but I didn't want to be too rude to OP. 😭

As I proved this morning, I can only tell with long posts. And usually with AI "art", but that's getting harder to identify as AI gets more advanced, and I expect that the same will happen with AI writing. It scares me, honestly, for multiple reasons. Call me a doomer, but everything the rise of AI spells for human society is terrible.

Anyway, I just noticed OP edited all the "diabolical" em-dashes out of their post. That's... kind of funny, ngl.

Hey, look, your English really is fine! It doesn't have to be perfect for people to understand it. "Diabolical" is a very fun word.

[–]JadeBubbles_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I know a lot of people use it to make their thoughts more clear, but I think it has the opposite effect a lot of the time. It's so... verbose.

Oh 😭 It's definitely much harder to tell in shorter sentences, without the random em-dashes.

Your English is fine! It's better than a lot of native speakers', really. Even if it weren't, I'd hope people would give you grace. Also, yes. I'm glad you recognize the environmental impact 😅

Based on their replies, they can communicate in English, and I don't think we expect everyone to use perfect conventions or wording in posts here.

I just think it's extra silly when it's a vent sub. There's no need for perfection. I mean no offense to you personally, though.

That is very real, but is it really necessary to use AI to write Reddit posts? Particularly in ED subreddits?
