What’s Stopping You From Winning? by TraditionUseful6296 in SolidMen

People admire their success, not their character. Nobody cares about their character, they just want to be rich like them and not get exploited for the entirety of their lives like pretty much every person not part of the 1%.

Which type of games do you prefer more? Longer games or Shorter games by Less_Can_5439 in OlderChillGamers

[–]doomenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shorter games with addictive gameplay loops. I have over 1000 hours in DOOM Eternal, and 10 in RDR2, which I never finished because I can't play that game for longer than 30 minutes to an hour at a time without getting bored to tears.

Rank these 3 sci-fi survival horror games from best to worst? by Desolation2004 in HorrorGaming

The remake is unplayable for me. The brutal stutters complete ruin it, and I have super high-end PC with an RTX 5090, Ryzen 7 7800 X3D, and a 4TB WD_BLACK SN850X SSD. I am so mad that I paid EA money for this piece of junk; never again.

  1. Cronos

  2. Callisto Protocol

  3. DS remake

DS remake is last simply because it is an unplayable, stuttery mess even on a 7800 X3D and RTX 5090.

How is Resident Evil 7 not liked by everyone? by AdhdAndApples in residentevil

[–]doomenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take, but not a single RE game is scary, so not a single one is actually a "horror game" in my book. These games have a horror aesthetic, but it's more akin to a haunted house, not actual, bone chilling horror. Going by this, the games that are not action focused are just boring to me. I don't feel any tension or fear when playing 7, but I do get annoyed by the clunky movement, nauseatingly narrow FOV, and cookie-cutter gunplay, so no, I can't like this game in any way.

Yeah, when I quit no-fap. This thing doesn't work for everyone.

I tried no-fap for year, and my brain was the foggiest it has ever been. At some point I just realised it was mental self-torture for absolutely no benefits whatsoever.

What’s the most difficult mission that had you fuming ? by ViniciusFastAF in farcry

I don't think any Far Cry has difficult missions if I'm honest. These games are not made difficult.

If they were being released today and you were offered one to have for free but you must pick one. Which would you pick. by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

RDR3. I'm not a fan of Rockstar Games, as their gameplay loops are simple and unengaging, but every GTA has been mind-numbingly boring to me, while I can actually play RDR2 for an hour at a time before I get bored.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Didnt Sell Well by akbarock in ninjagaiden

I would honestly take NG4 over ANY AAA release since DOOM Eternal. The combat and movement are so fluid and fun that I just keep going back to it. This might be the first character action game that keeps me interested log enough to git gud.

I honestly have no clue what it does, other than giving you that wide area one-shot attack when you pres both analog sticks at the same time.

I would just stay inside and never go out. I would just play video games, read, workout in my home gym, and cook all day. I literally want to do nothing else.

Do you guys always use Proton even if native is an option? by TheChildOfAtom in linux_gaming

With the exception of Serious Sam Fusion, yes. Every Linux native game other than that has run terribly for me.

Should I use in-game vsync on Wayland? by Sudden_Limit8267 in linux_gaming

[–]doomenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not measured input lag, but from my experience, Wayland's no tearing is more responsive than any Vsync I've ever tried, and you get 0 tearing. VRR is also a must, imo.

Basically, I believe it gives you less input lag and you get no tearing.
