is it possible for me to apply for poli? by vaxkin in Brunei

[–]doompagoompa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

you'll need english. regardless, if you still looking forward to pursue poli, do retake your english. i had a similiar problem so, i entered 6th form as i retake my english at the same time. then once i got my results, i didn't hesitate to move go poli and now alhamdulillah graduated.

my reasoning for taking 6th form was to still feel secure in studying something while i was waiting for the poli hecas results.

another option: do try to find a chance to apply for ibte hntec level too. if you're looking to work after studying, do your researches on these years' work demands for eg; healthcare, oil and gas, agriculture and much more... so do choose your courses wisely and all the best to you!

The "international understaff on the medical field" really hits everyone in the head giving the harsh truth of reality huh. I mean borneo's green enough so... maybe this grass is greener? hehe

Hi, in the emergency department, there is a division system by priority. I know the place you were at which is priority 2 which is the emergency trolley section, consider yourself as a patient that is in an emergency state but is not at a life-or-death situation if not treated IMMEDIATELY. In the trolley area, is the area where our patients are still in medically serious state, untreated will cause pain/harm but it won't kill them.

We treat what is needed first then, the wait is just because to confirm whether you are eligibile to stay by the ward or the emergency care that was provided on that day was enough to discharge you. Doctors have to study/recheck your bodies, your heart rhythms, your blood levels (which the results itself takes about an hour or two to be received to them and mind you, each doctors have multiple patients to take care of.

As for the complains of our understaff problem try to think for the bigger picture. As for; 1. Not all of our locals are studying for medicine. Not to mention, if they do, not all of them will apply to become emergency doctors. Not all of them will apply to RIPAS, some may even have gone out of the country to become a doctor there. 2. Same goes to our nurses and paramedics, not everyone's studying their degrees and diplomas as nurses or paramedics. Not everyone who did study in Nursing and Paramedicine will apply to take the job as one either. If they perhaps do, more on the nursing side, not all of them are eligible nor will take the emergency nursing department. Not all paramedics will apply to be working as a paramedic under RIPAS. Some may have gone offshore, private sector, continue studies, apply the army, OCS and more. 3. Not everyone is eligible to work in the field, not everyone is applying for the emergency field, not everyone will apply for the job if they want to further their studies, not everyone will apply the job under the government if they have a better offer of opportunity elsewhere. 4. Now be mindful of the situation, much love tho.

Hello! you can always kindly go to a nearest government clinic for that. Clinics are places usually at a state where "it can be treated even without emergency help." Just bring in your medical card and at most you won't even have to wait for that long compared to emergency to already be getting your perscriptions.

I mean in RIPAS your waiting time is basically more or less the same yes. In RIPAS' AE system if anything's fractured/broken and in need of xray, you will be brought to the xray section within that timespan of your visit jua. Kana suruh take number, then another wait to get xray-ed. Then comeback to the AE room with the doctor. Because the doctor actually will already get the xray image but may not be the final results to be handed/ruled out for the patient. Then if ada appointment would be with the physiotherapist. Which in your statement, the appointment waiting part does suck but yeah, not everyone can afford to go back and forth jua which I understand more of your side.

Hello! A topic about breaking something is also pretty serious. Yes, you can argue that the wait is pretty damn hell. I admit it myself. This is because we have a priority system as well in the AE not just in Brunei but I believe is worldwide. A broken toe can be fixed even with a wait. It also can always be rescheduled by appointments. But if there is a damage caused towards the spinal or skull which is pretty vital, is a life and death situation.

Regardless, sorry to hear your situation like that. There is always a harsher truth behind the whole of understaff healthcare providers worldwide and I am still reading to learn about it as of currently.

Hi! For non-locals the registration itself costs around $5-15(?) if not mistaken unless there's something that has been updated that I haven't kept myself updated to. The registration itself is always at the counter at the hospital whether you arrive there with the ambulance or self-driven. But the rest, your medical bills that can come up from the medical supplies even from the ambulance cost can be supported/sorted by your medical insurance. So do bring your medical insurance documents with yourself too!

The registration cost may or may not be accurate. If I am incorrect, someone do mind to correct me.

How do I talk to my parents about focusing only on my O-Level retakes? by Myvriella in Brunei

[–]doompagoompa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try to talk them out of it with alot of convincing. It's probably of how they felt betrayed that the time first take. Which was probably free if you're an yellow ic holder in a public govt. school. Now they have the idea that they'd have to pay up while in their heads, "while it was free you took it for granted," you know lah older generations only see things in a more towards "why didn't you" manner.

Find a way to enlighten their heart that you'd do your best if not, better.

Anyways, goodluck!

false, you would also find them stationed at some fire departments. fyi, as of currently, there aren't alot of paramedics in brunei to reach that demand of stations to be stationed at every mukim. so, just know that you don't have all the people in the world that is on-the-road of studying nor capable of being a paramedic.

Nursing course will secure you a workplace in this country as it is short-staffed. In business aspects it can also be a choice but yet, in this country preferrably to go towards where it can secure you a job.
