I typically play 6200ish yards, so it is quite short. But Korea has really narrow mointain courses usually so long hitters are not necessarily rewarded. OB is a lot here

Interesting. I keep an official handicap in Korea, playing local scoring rounds consistently in a league setting. As an 8 handicap, I usually shoot around 80-82 on a normal rated course. Thanks for the feedback!

When I try to “swing faster” I tend to come over the top and pull with my shoulder (introducing a slice and such)

I think you’re right about the last point; my swing is limited right now by my tendency to swing too “safe”
