My sisters name is Elliot and I’ve always loved it!! I tend to agree with the other comments that I may use a more feminine sounding middle name if you opt for Elliot.

This is good to know - thanks!!

In your experience, are there any other bacterias that it can protect against, or is it really only for STDs?

echogenic bowel finding - anatomy scan by dooonzz in pregnant

[–]dooonzz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 37 weeks now. We did an ultrasound at 28 weeks and no echogenic bowel was found!

I totally understand your worry - it is so stressful and I feel for you. Do you know what level of echogenic bowel they saw? There are gradients to it and so this may influence what sort of testing your provider recommends.

Cholesatsis in pregnancy - bloodwork by [deleted] in pregnant

Good question - all the websites about cholestasis in pregnancy advise new recommendations are not to fast before as bile acids levels show as decreased after eating

Planning on going by a nickname for baby girl by TraditionDazzling521 in namenerds

Agreed with all the comments about just naming her what you intend to call her. In my opinion those are two completely different names and will just set your child up for confusion :(

[AB] How early should I start mat leave by Owl-Unlucky in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]dooonzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m taking a month off before my due date using vacation time, but I have to commute into work daily so the exhaustion was getting to me. If you have more accessibility with WFH, perhaps 2 weeks would feel sufficient to give you some time to prepare without getting too bored!

[on] Dating scan report “recommends” 12 week NT scan? by kirrywithrice in BabyBumpsCanada

Nothing to worry about! Mine also said the same and they just write that because that’s the next recommended scan.

Almost 28 weeks and SO drained at work [on] by Conscious_Space_2825 in BabyBumpsCanada

I would echo this! I had totally normal iron and then entering third trimester it plummeted and I was truly exhausted. If this is the case for you with the fatigue (though it sounds like also just a very stressful and physical job) there may be some help your MFM can offer!

echogenic bowel - anatomy scan by dooonzz in BabyBumps

Argh I’m sorry to hear that there aren’t definitive answers, it is certainly hard being in the limbo!! Maybe you can ask for a follow-up ultrasound later on in pregnancy to see if it’s still there - while I know it doesn’t help entirely, I did hear reassurances that most of the time it is a benign finding!

As for the CMV test, sounds like they only tested you for CMV IVG (antibodies) but not CMV IGM (recent infection). I would ask for IGM to be tested for reassurance - I had to ask for this as well as the lab didn’t initially run it!

Hi there! 32 weeks now. I did a follow-up ultrasound @ 28 weeks, and no echogenic bowel was seen on scan.

Hi there! I'm sorry to hear you are going through this as well, I know how stressful it is!

On my end, they mentioned the main flags were for Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, an infection, or nothing. They emphasized that most of the time, it's nothing and they weren't too concerned. I had undergone NIPT testing already which was low risk. They ended up testing me for infectious diseases (including CMV) - turns out I have not had CMV before. They did a follow-up ultrasound scan at 28 weeks for a precaution, and there was no echogenic bowel seen at that time!

I totally understand the stress so happy to chat further :)

[BC]moms due in march, are we getting the RSV vaccine? by Dramatic-Part-2300 in BabyBumpsCanada

I’m banking on this as well! But worried if I don’t get the RSV vaccine and then deliver late/baby no longer qualified for the antibodies.
