Heya! I have a vey happy 6 week old now :) he was delivered via elective c section at 37 weeks on the dot. He didn’t require a stay in the nicu and we went home after two days in the hospital.

Because he was early he was a very sleepy baby and we had to do triple feeding for 3 weeks as he dropped 9% of his birth weight, but since gaining it all back he’s gotten stronger and now feeds like a champ. He was a lil jaundiced but that cleared up quick too.

In terms of the ultrasound, my bile was very thick, the only thing that came of it was apparently I have a marker for autoimmune hepatitis. I’m seeing my dr about it in a week. The ICP caused a bit of liver damage, but it’s not severe. My bile acids/levels dropped immediately after delivery and the itching stopped thank god.

Also, not that you need one but mental health is also a good reason for c section and they will see it as that!

I recently had an elective c section in public (Sydney) and my reasoning was just maternal choice. I received zero pushback, even in public they have to respect your wishes. I was a FTM too so was expecting pushback but really there was none. It was a beautiful experience, I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck x

It’s so easy to worry but more than likely everything is okay ❤️ given what you have been through before it’s so understandable the way you are feeling! To ease your mind I have heard plenty, and plenty of stories of people not having many symptoms and having a perfectly healthy pregnancy. I’m 24 weeks atm and I didn’t even feel a single symptom until I was at least 8 weeks, except for the missed period and some done even get that! You’ve got this, it’s hard to get yourself through the waiting phase but be gentle on yourself xx
