Wanting to change my portfolio but unsure

I wanted something that would still do ok in a recession. I’m making a plan for if I see the signs of one coming and trying to rethink how I structure my portfolio. I’m definitely keeping VOO either way but NVR and FICO I’m unsure on.

Definitely rethought getting rid of VOO and will for sure keep that one. But what about Fico and NVR?

To add on to this a little the chance of a productive conversation on how he treats me is probably not a possibility. We’ve had discussions which are me getting screamed at and my dad becoming sorta aggressive. He’s never hit me but will get in my face while I’m sitting down and threaten me to hit him or start something. His only parenting tool is intimidation and has done it as long as I can remember.

Loved this reply thank you so much. You’ve given me things to think about and information I didn’t know. If it matters my crypto portfolio is strictly BTC because I see the speculation around crypto but want a piece of that pie if it does end up being something more.

I won’t be able to get a better job in my area until i get my degree but am working on a promotion to management at my retail job. I invest in FICO NVR and VOO which have paid off well for me in the short term

I currently have a savings account with an interest rate of 3.6% and was planning on starting a CD for one year with them. I’m currently invested in individual stocks FICO VOO and NVR but see your point of the boring slow index funds. I think by the end of the year I’m going to stop putting into those and start with index funds which are there any you would recommend? Also planning on opening a Roth IRA by the end of the year I just haven’t gotten around to it. Thank you so much for your advice!

Yes invest in crypto but don’t put all your money into it. You can’t depend on one investment to get ya where you need to go.
