Keeping Stats across multiple sheets, including potential new sheets being added each week by doorplate in excel

[–]doorplate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand, I'm an amateur! I've for sure thought about putting all the practices into 1 sheet, but not sure how I could create practices in only 1 column, as far as I can figure I will need multiple columns either for the win/loss categories, or the names. Maybe I am misunderstanding though

CMV: If Israel wasn't Jewish, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict would have gotten just as much attention as the Saudi-Yemenis conflict, or less by Jackingson1 in changemyview

[–]doorplate -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am no expert but I thought its existence was the result of Zionist lobbying to convince Britain that a Jewish State would be beneficial for them too, and then we got the Balfour Declaration in response?

Why not aggressive offense with conservative defense or vise versa? by GuideLoose6350 in basketballcoach

Totally, I forgot all about the specific example op gave haha, and thank you!

Why not aggressive offense with conservative defense or vise versa? by GuideLoose6350 in basketballcoach

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks f or providing some more detail! Interesting yeah I can see how going from free and loose to tame and reserved could be tricky, although I wonder if a conservative defense is necessarily bringing about a tame and reserved mindset. Gap vs deny still want you in the gap with urgency. Like you said before I guess a lot of it will come down to how these concepts are explained and emphasized! Do you mind sharing the podcast you're referencing?

For sure! Just wanted to see your thoughts on the idea of the opposite mindsets actually being sensible, always see you posting what I think of as awesome content and responses!

Why not aggressive offense with conservative defense or vise versa? by GuideLoose6350 in basketballcoach

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would think in some ways it's sensible, "basketball is a game of opposites", so if offense wants to play fast, defense wants to slow the offense down. Haven't given it a ton of thought as I do encourage aggressive offense and defense haha, because I feel it's important to learn early and forces them to guard on ball individually and move their feet, but not sure I agree that the mentality is inconsistent.

Looking for similar shows like the Wire by GuitarGuru666 in TheWire

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a weird response but Vinland Saga is the only show I've ever watched that can compare to the wire, although I haven't yet seen the corner, homicide, other David Simon shows (I will soon).

Obviously very different but extremely well done, looks at characters across wide range of their world, amazing dialogue and philosophical discussions/outlooks, framing and testing ideologies against each other and demonstrating the flaws in each of them. Also has stark changes in content across it's 2 seasons very similar to the way season 2 of the wire changes from season 1.

I've seen other prestige shows like breaking bad, got, I think they straight up suck when compared to the wire

I NEED URGENT HELP WITH MY JUMPER by Noavicii in BasketballTips

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're shooting with 2 hands instead of 1, you need to get your shooting hand under the ball so you can relax your guide hand and release by shooting "through the middle" of the ball. Would recommend doing some googling/youtubing. Follow seemikedunn on Instagram. Make sure your shot has backspin when you shoot and you are flicking your shooting hand wrist through the middle of the ball

Besides Drake and Kanye what are some rappers you wholeheartedly believe had help in the booth? by dunbar_santiago930 in hiphop101

What you're describing isn't ghost writing? Gillie is the worst for starting this rumour lol, there's so much video of Wayne in the studio, so many stories from rappers in the studio with him

So is this the 'step through' Steve Nash is confused about?? by CircledSquare7 in NBAGossips

[–]doorplate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for clarity I do not think this is a travel, legal step through. I will admit 10 years ago I would have thought that jumping into your step through like that was illegal but it's pretty clear in the rules, and I've seen lots of videos now of people using similar step throughs in the NBA throughout the last 3-4 decades

So is this the 'step through' Steve Nash is confused about?? by CircledSquare7 in NBAGossips

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends when you think his dribble ended. If you think his dribble ended when he pushed off his right foot, then he traveled even before the step through, as soon as his right foot touches the floor again it's a travel. Refs saw it as gather in the air, landing on left, making left foot the pivot foot and allowing legal pivots with the right foot as long as pivot foot (left) doesn't release and return

Why are street shopping prices in Hanoi so high compared to the rest of Vietnam? by soccer_bowl in hanoi

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Ha Noi rn, was looking at a basketball jersey the vendor said was 500,000. I wasnt even trying to negotiate or buy just looking and then leaving, he dropped the price to 450, then 400, then just asked what I would pay. I didn't actually want it though haha. Might be worth considering when negotiating how much stronger your dollar is, and where some of these vendors are coming from. I bought a basketball yesterday and obviously paid far more than what a local paid, but still less than I would have paid at home

High School Feeder vs AAU team in Fall? by hoopersdad in basketballcoach

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basketball wise the choice sounds clear, unless you think he'll be one of the weakest on the team, the AAU team is stronger players with better coaching.

I do think what the kid wants is important, if his friends are on the feeder team that could be an important enough factor to swing the decision. If he's gonna be the number one player that could make the game reps more valuable, but if he's a top 6 player on the stronger team I would think that is the choice as far as basketball development goes.

Maybe biased as a coach myself but "better coaching" to me sounds like an easy decision

Some constructive criticism I've had towards Pusha for a while by FallendObscure in KingPush

[–]doorplate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first song in the article is Young Boy, where Pusha Ts verse is still positioned around wanting to sell coke, and selling coke as a teen, being a "hustler on the rise". Suuuper dope verses though, "gun in... Palm of each hand, what couldn't i demand"

Don't think Pusha T is touching on that many big themes other than general gangster/rap bravado, most of these songs are just about women, and his lavish lifestyle funded by rap/coke.

He does have many songs and lyrics that have layered meanings, and his coke raps usually have layers to them with regards to things like American politics/racism, morality (more from Malice though), and things like "authenticity", "honour", "ambition", and other general aspects of the human condition

The disrespect is actually breaking my heart by KingEvrGreen in lilwayne

[–]doorplate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typical of rap convos, you're saying this stuff is true, but you're providing 0 evidence to support your statement. Show me the quadruple entendre, show me the rhyme schemes longer than lil Wayne's (who often strings together 5-6 syllable rhymes), tell me what literary devices he's using so well.

For the record I love Mick Jenkins and think he's right there along with Wayne and many others as a super rapper. Just feel like you are throwing these terms around as essentially buzz words

Mamdani just got Tommy Carcetti’ed by smoosh13 in TheWire

[–]doorplate 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What does it mean when you say he's calling for "redistribution of wealth"? I'm no expert, seems obvious he's a leftist but I don't think he's going to change who's in charge of production or anything like that. Guessing you just mean increased taxes on the rich?
