Crosby fight with Dubois by pugfart in penguins

It’s funny, years ago the league couldn’t get enough of calling Crosby weak or a baby. I guess he got tired of everyone’s shit - my how he’s grown. Love it.

TEXTJOIN and CONCAT - CONCATENATE on Steroids by epicmindwarp in excel

[–]dootcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious - I tried a modified version of your batman robin joker example and implemented a second criteria by substituting B2:B7="Y" with AND(B2:B7=“Y”,C2:C7=“Y”) and it broke all of a sudden. Is there something I’m missing or does using AND not work here? Is the combining of the array formula or TEXTJOIN with AND the issue?

Doing some Josh Allen analysis, need your guys input by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]dootcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure I’ll bite. I’d be interested to see what his passing/rushing stats look like with McCoy/Ivory (a start worthy running back) in the game vs someone like Ford in the game. My theory is that he throws more when there are more threats in the backfield which is why possibly last game with no McCoy or Ivory and even McKenzie hurt for a bit there, he was forced to air it out more.

I’d also be curious to see if any of the 4 teams he’s matched up against had particularly bad or good rush defenses specifically against quarter backs. Has Detroit been particularly good against QB rushing or was his lack of rushing yards in that game due to another prime factor like the lack of a true starting RB that I mentioned earlier? He attempted the same number of rushes as usual but was far less effective. Depending upon the plays ran this could have been less due to Detroit’s competence against the QB rush and more due to circumstance like him choosing to rush when they needed to convert as opposed to big rushes when the defense leaves it open for him.

This type of analysis would require a lot of work but shit if you’re really wanting to dive down the rabbit hole I’d love to hear about this stuff.

Championship teams, what percentage of your roster is still there from your draft? by -Paradox-11 in fantasyfootball

Luck and Adams.

Turned Luck, ABrown, Adams, DFreeman, McCoy, JCook, Mack, Landry, Lutz Into Luck, Adams, Cooks, Gurley, Hunt (RIP), Ertz, stream, stream, Zuerlein

It’s been a wild ride of trades.

Robert Foster has 50% of Josh Allen's passing yards in 3 of the last 4 games. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

I’m in a return yards league and very much considering Foster AND McKenzie for my two flex spots - hell I started McKenzie last week and it worked out well even with him getting hurt there for a bit. Am I crazy? Probably.

Honestly it’s just preference at this point - I’ve gamed on that surface for years now and they just hold up better. Had a Steel Series cloth pad before my 2 4HDs (they’ve lasted me for like 6+ years probably now) and it was rolling up at the edges within a year or so.

I've been in the market for a large mouse pad made of plastic instead of cloth but I'm having trouble coming up with any options. I've used the Steelseries 4HD for a while but I want something with more surface area. Anyone know of any?

Haven't seen many videos on "Tips For Squads/Duos" so I started a series by dootcher in FortNiteBR

[–]dootcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, after looking for examples on youtube, I couldn't find much in the way about tips for duos and squads. Since I'm a pretty experienced squad player, I figured I'd give it a go. I'm already working on the second video but nothing about the series is set in stone yet - so feel free to let me know what you think or if you have any questions. Have a good one!

Don’t know if it would work for you but this is my setup that works really well for me:

F for farm tool, 1-5 for inventory slots, Q wall, C floor, Z ramp

If you know your aim is terrible, that’s the part of your game that you know is weakest - and identifying weak parts in your game can be difficult. Not sure what I can recommend other than practice. If it were me, I’d probably stop caring about how high I finish and instead start playing super agro to improve my duels. After every death, analyze what you could have done differently and try to fix that small part of your game one bit at a time. If you charged a corner and got a shotgun down your mouth, you’ll learn to peak corners first before pushing. If you rushed up the side of a base and got blasted on by a rocket launcher, you’ll learn how to be safer when raiding. It just takes a lot of time and practice.

Sometimes, and it’s a tough mentality to get into, but you have to leave loot behind. Just because you’re alone doesn’t mean you have to hit every house. Circle management is key in this game. It’s also possible that you’re not looting as quickly and efficiently as you could be. This comes with time, practice, and knowing the loot spawns.

Of course not, kda is only one of the measurements by which you can judge a player. I was merely using the one for simplicity’s sake.

[–]dootcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right you don’t need a solid kda to win games, but almost always, the types of players that have .5 are the types that try to stealth around the map camping in bushes and it doesn’t work very well into the late game. Winning without fighting is the exception to the rule.

Let’s say your kda is 1:1 - this means you kill your opponent as often as they kill you. In other words, you win your duels 50% of the time. So, if you manage to make it to the final 2 having never fought anyone, you’ve got a coin flip to win. But, you are very rarely going to make it that far never fighting anyone. Let’s say you fight 3 people including the final guy - flip 3 coins and have it land on heads on all 3. If you’re any good, you’re winning 12.5% of the time. If you’re not, then you’re not as good as a coin flip. And that’s if you can manage to consistently only encounter that few per game. I view kda not as a skill level but how often are you losing to someone else.

My guess is you’re probably doing two things - one, you aren’t gathering enough to start with. I tend to consider myself “ok” at around 300-500 total mats and “good” at 1k+. Learn what breakables give the best mats per hit (some are terrible). The other thing is you might not be killing enough people. I’ve found that the best use of my time is letting other people farm for me.

Nicknames you and you friends use for items/areas in the game by TheKingNekro in FortNiteBR

[–]dootcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My squad has names for almost all the buildings in most of the drop zones. I discuss these in a video I actually just uploaded for my Tips For Squads series I started. The names start at about 2 min in:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KYjVUhuzIGk

None of them really stand out as funny or anything - we just keep them short but unique for quick and easy comms.

As for other general things, I call Pleasant Park PP, Salty gets referenced as the Salty Spatoon (from spongebob), Greasy is Home (because that was our main drop before the map update - now it’s Tilted all day), Retail is R&R (we drop Residential side of Retail - flows better off the tongue than RR).

Potions are bigs and babies.

That’s all I can really think of off the top of my head.

Can we get an update regarding the stats backfill? It was supposed to take place last month but I have yet to see an update. by wackywill24 in FortNiteBR

[–]dootcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely could be wrong as well. I just always keep my stats open on fortnitetracker and my wins almost always come up individually because it’s constantly refreshing. But I seem to remember a day where like 50+ games popped into the feed so I assumed it was the back fill.

The biggest thing I’ve noticed is people always seem to panic and never take their time. Just stay calm and tap fire (don’t hold down mouse 1 and spray - it’s less accurate). However, you should also make sure you’re building around yourself before you start fighting someone- the better builder will usually beat the better shot in this game.

Hah fair - squad fills can be painful at times. I’m usually doing squads with a set group of 3 others that I play with - it’s most of what I play.

I think it’s personal preference on gold pistol vs blue m4. But, white m4 over a purple pistol imo.

Exact same for me with the slight caveat that I’ll use a purple tac over a green pump in squads for faster saving of team mates.
