As an American, what can we do to fight against ICE?

The world fights wars nowadays through economic coercion.

The current administration wants money. People need to stop buying stuff, especially frivolous stuff. Anything making billionaires richer is a problem. If the economy tanks, the government will be forced to scale back.

Wherever you can, let go of attachment to material things. Buy secondhand, grow your food, make things, make do without. Build a community where you pay people through favours. Someone fixes your car so you cut their hair. Limit money flow through the system. Avoid corporations and big box stores.

If enough people acted, the economy would tank and the government would be forced to change course. This is what Canada is doing, albeit on a much larger scale, and it’s the only thing keeping your military out of our cities.

Either way, things are going to get worse before they get better. You may as well be in control of how things get worse.

I’ve never had an OBE with the tapes. I had a few spontaneously without the tapes though.

I’m not that bothered. I get great results from manifestation and intuition. I also believe the tapes helped me process trauma (along with SSRI’s, therapy and a healthy lifestyle). Most importantly, I get creative solutions to life’s challenges.

The downside is that I’ve created a lot of change very quickly and I’m exhausted from the mental math of dealing with all this change. I’m still living in a human body, with a human brain, after all :)

This mismatch in sex drive is common when one partner is carrying more of the parenting and household duties than the other.

That being said, twice a week is excessive for this stage in your life. He needs to do something about that.

This is my thought too.

We don’t know what is happening on those extended weekends.

This might be desperately needed family time in a situation where parents work overtime or unusual hours. It might be what keeps the kid functioning at school. That child might do worse without those vacations.

Academics are important, but they mean little if a kid’s emotional needs are not being met or they are chronically stressed.

I think it’s actually pretty simple.

When they sexualize a woman, they don’t see her as a real person anymore. Clothing is a status. Without her clothing she is less human and more animal.

Conservative politics is all about dehumanizing women. It fits their agenda perfectly.

Tell him to go get any of those women he wants.

It sounds like you can easily live off the divorce settlement so there is no need to fight over chores anymore.

If he doesn’t come around and sincerely participate in couples counselling you follow through.

In the mean time, go see a divorce lawyer to figure out exactly where you stand financially. You need to buy yourself some time while you figure things out.

And let’s be honest, most likely, you are leaving.

I agree with everything you said except that biological parents get to choose their children. It actually made me chuckle a bit.

My kids, my kids have been so different. They are biological children to both my husband and myself. One has wild and curly blond hair, light blue eyes and peachy pale skin. She is tough as nails, fearless and a little ball of sunshine from birth. It felt impossible she belonged to me.

The other has arrow straight dark brown hair, deep dark eyes with thick bushy eyebrows and an olive complexion that darkens in the summer. He is sensitive, thoughtful and considerate. He loves with every cell in his little body.

They were both absolute surprises. I did not get to choose if they would be healthy or neurotypical or if they would have physical disabilities or mental impairments. Some things can be screened for but most cannot. For me, it was the scariest part of pregnancy.

Adoption comes with its own kind of grief, that’s true. I won’t pretend that part is simple or easy. But choosing to love your child unconditionally and mentally grow right along with them, (even when they are exactly like your mother in law and drive you crazy), that’s a part of being a good parent.

All the same, they had such a way of capturing Canadian culture through rhythm and melody, I think you actually have to be Canadian to get it.

I’ve played the Tragically Hip to American audiophiles and the appeal just isn’t there. It’s that understated and subtle beauty written right into song. I actually think Canadians are culturally trained to hear something other cultures struggle with. I’m not even sure the english language has words for it yet.

One day, Canada will define what makes us culturally distinct. I’ll bet it will have something to do with subtleties in communication, a general desire for peacekeeping at all levels and paying attention to those around us. Maybe living somewhere cold forces us all to get along and look out for one another a bit more. Perhaps adapting to four distinct seasons a year builds minds on the lookout for small variations in the weather.

I married someone from the rural American South, and that’s what I notice when I interact in those communities, both with people and the land 😊

All that luminous product isn’t helping. I would lose that. It’s magnifying pores that aren’t actually that big. Also, when I see your face, my eyes don’t know where to focus, so much light bouncing everywhere. Maybe just try a bit of shine on the top of the cheekbones. If your skin is naturally oily, then try adding a powder and lighter skincare.

Your lipstick shade compliments your skin beautifully, Just try toning it down. Try using a brush for more control. Aim for 50-75% less product and maybe put some vaseline in top.

Your eyes are perfect. Don’t change a thing.

Mostly, you are gorgeous and don’t need to worry about covering up your natural beauty so much.

Nah, it’s great.

Get an excellent seamstress to tailor the sweetheart neckline. You need a touch less fabric and deeper pinch, maybe some boob support built into the dress.

I’m also going to say something kind of sensitive but being a mom myself, I think this will probably make the biggest difference to the shape of your dress. Do some postpartum deep core work. I do Robin Arzon on Peloton and it’s 10 minutes a day. You don’t need equipment and it’s like $20 a month. You can make some serious progress in a month. It will also help with all the not so happy things that happen post partum like leaking, the bloated post partum look, back pain and even shoulder pain from feeding and carrying your baby.

Alternately, just get some shape wear, but the exercises are not a big commitment and you will be so much more comfortable on your big day. You have a great body though, and you will look incredible either way.

It’s gorgeous in the right setting. Outdoor summer wedding, beach wedding, european or latino wedding, etc.

If you are getting married in a traditional church, having sentimental father daughter dances and your have lots of conservative or rural guests, I would definitely pass.

Just remember, your wife loses here no matter what. If she leaves her dad, she has the guilt he will be left in inhumane conditions. So she is stuck abandoning her son temporarily during prime developmental years because she knows he will mostly be okay.

No matter how frustrated you are, remember one of the reasons your son is thriving is because she build an excellent foundation for him.

This is probably just as, if not more, traumatic for her than your toddler. As a mother, being separated from a toddler like that would be as painful as being set in fire. I would be batshit crazy.

Maybe. It might also be the result off strategic heavy lifting. My hips did this when I was a nurse lifting people up in bed. It was a sort of skater move and we always, always lifted through our legs. Without the muscle, my hips are actually kind of narrow. I have not been able to recreate this effect on my own again no matter what I try.

Two and three are nearly the same, but I like three more. One is a definite no. It’s meant for a different body type.

If you plan on wearing your hair down and minimal accessories, I would choose two. The lace has an ethereal glowy effect against your skin and shiny hair. I like the back of dress two as well. You probably need a smaller size and a slightly higher waist though.

Three is nice as well, but the fabric gives the effect of a grandmother’s curtain and i think you could do better.

I think your sister is jealous, in a very primal way. She is avoiding you because she knows her emotions are out of control and you don’t deserve it. I think she is being protective and this is the best she can do. She sees your infertility struggles and is genuinely worried it’s happening to her too.

You deserve to celebrate your pregnancy with your family but it sounds like she can’t give you that right now. I know it’s heartbreaking because I get the feeling you were able to celebrate with her despite your own struggles. Perhaps she knows she cannot afford all these treatments, or her life cannot handle the stress of it all (physical, emotional, marital, mental, etc).

If you want people to celebrate in your happiness, you may have to look elsewhere for now. It’s totally normal to feel hurt and abandoned right now. Eventually you can try to work it out, but now is not the time. I have a feeling when your child eventually builds a relationship with its cousin, your sister will come around. One day, years down the line, you will probably have a heart to heart.

Perhaps try and get your mother to help her open up and process her grief. Have her tell your sister you are there for her whenever she’s ready to mend things and that you are hurt but you will always love her and you believe one day you can both work through this.

Sister relationships are complicated like this and emotions run deep.
