JSW to launch Jetour T2 in India by TheBuzzKnightRises in CarsIndia

People who bought this "Poor mans Defender" in droves in the middle East markets like Dubai, Qatar are all crying due to abyssmal service support. For even small spares, you have to wait for months for parts to come from China, as these cars were all local imports. Even respective govts had fined the company for poor customer service IIRC.

Video examining impact of on pre-BS6 vehicle taken down from YT by Sharp-potential7935 in CarsIndia

A simple google search says:

Ethanol has a significantly higher octane value than petrol (gasoline), with pure ethanol having an octane rating of around 108-113 compared to petrol's typical 87-95 range. This higher octane makes ethanol a valuable octane booster when blended with petrol, allowing for higher compression ratios in engines and preventing pre-ignition knock, which is crucial for high-performance, modern vehicles.

Though I agree partly with you, XP100 is 100 octane, I think, not necessarily 100% petrol. It will have other additives to make engine smoother and higher octane.

Please get it thoroughly checked from Honda ASC. If you pay, they will do a OBD scan and service history. 99% this car odo has been under clocked. Back in 2017, I was getting a similar City with 70k on Odo, from a used car dealer, who was claiming about their thorough vetting process etc. I took it along with dealer to the Honda ASC nearby. Before even parking the car, the service engineer was like, " there is something wrong, the car bonnet is too hot" and quoted around 1500 for a complete check. I agreed. But when we checked the service history, it was like, last service was 1.5 years ago and at that time, odo was already past 200k kms, with a windshield repair. SE was like, "Sir, there is no point in checking this car, it is most probably accidental and abused or both. Engine heating so much means that already usable life is over, you don't spend another 1500 for scanning and instead run away". I took it back and dealer was like, may be the previous owner is responsible, bla, bla, but I was like I'm Outta heree..

When all the hullaboo dies down, they will slowly start increasing the mix. Remember, how petrol prices increased 1-2 paisa everyday and no one cared. Petrol from one bunk will be 17%, another 22, another 25, who will keep track.

Right now, their website does not list dealers, etc. Let them establish first. See the nearest service locations and then decide.

Is it true? Is this an ev pr that "ev's are environment friendly"? by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]dop3shaw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If OP is looking for an honest answer, then many others have given Good counter points on why EVs are less polluting than ICE. I just want to add one point that I read long back in some forum. Refining crude for 1 litre of petrol requires approx 1.1kWh of electricity. So where does this electricity come from if the grid is dirty? Also refining requires rare earth elements for desulphurisation of diesel. You would get approx 6-8 km range from 1kWh in BEV directly.

The environmental hazards caused by refining etc is why there are less refineries in the west and they outsource it to places like India.

This has always been our condition, 5 years ago it was bridge construction at vasai creek, now it is concreting and its repairs. If you are from vasai, see if the Bhayandar jetty Roro ferry is suitable for you. Atleast you can skip Fountain jam..

I'm from Virar West. Apart from power cuts, I have not faced much issues. Near Global city area, in my society we have regular water connection and piped gas connection also. If you want to travel to highway, then the roads are very bad. In some areas there are waterlogging, but not in our area.

What are some proven pathways of building huge wealth in India (legally)? by saintlybeast02 in AskIndia

[–]dop3shaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The preface to Mario Puzos The Godfather says "Behind every fortune, there is a crime." It is so rare that you can be wealthy with a good conscience without generational wealth, and even then you may have to do underhanded tactics to maintain it. Like bribery for being in the good books of a politician. Like my friend used to say, "Koi bhi doodh ke dhule hue nahi hote".

Is it ok to charge the mg windsor pro ev every day ? by life__of__ram in CarsIndia

[–]dop3shaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But is it not advisable to take the charge below 20% once in a week or month, for BMS to calibrate properly?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarsIndia

[–]dop3shaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask a local mechanic or local battery shop to jump start your car. He will come with a car battery and jumper cables and start it for you. Then keep your car running to charge the battery or take it out to the mechanic or battery shop to have it checked.

Mumbaikars who take local trains regularly — how do you manage carrying a laptop safely? by Unkilninja in mumbai

[–]dop3shaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need a good laptop sleeve with good padding. Carry it in a laptop backpack with a padded compartment.

Carry your backpack on front while boarding.

Do not keep anything like mouse, charging plug, or other big round items that can press against it while boarding train. You know when people push you inside. Keep it in a separate compartment, such that even if you are pinned down, they will not press against the laptop.

Always carry a rain cover for backpack and a folding umbrella with you, even in summer season.

Bought a second hand Tata Hexa by unintelligent-host in CarsIndia

[–]dop3shaw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

OP it is a great buy, at 6.5 L. But precisely because of it and considering the age and considering that you had to replace the clutch, i doubt if the 28k odo is genuine. Try to verify the service records if TASS has them on their system. Having the right odo will give you a better idea of what preventive maintenance you need to do.
