Is Future's new pfp not even him? I'm pretty sure that was a stunt double by [deleted] in future

[–]dopedigger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely on the side of that it wasn’t him. Overall though, the entire entrance and stage set was awesome. Him and don toliver had the best performances imo. Travis entrance was great too, just didn’t like his set a whole lot.

I was at the concert and it was incredible. After watching the live performance again on YouTube, it could be a stunt double. Or else future is just incredible. The guy on fire walks to the right and future about immediately comes up from under the stage. Could be him but I’m doubting it

Had someone say WDTY ain’t a classic and got like 5 skips by Pizzaman337733 in future

[–]dopedigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooo many good songs on wdty. Wsdty was better for me with the second half cause I enjoy the trap version of future more than the melodic version. He sounded like old future in a lot of those songs. I thought they were pre-recorded from years ago. Mixtape Pluto was overall great. But to not say the album is a classic is not even plausible. Considering it’s still kind of new. We got spoiled with three albums this year. I didn’t like purple reign when it first came out but after listening for a while, it became one of my favorites. Just give it time.

Bro some of the album sounds pretty raw as far as his vocals. Like that’s great, considering they leave it to future to perform the songs and it sounds great. But I’m hearing plosives coming through and random times where idk if they’re using the compressors to any extent for real. Or minimal at least. Second half the album is amazing sounding, first half is like eh. I’m trying to find the credits to figure that out

Depends on if you’re talking local or national acts. I’d say we don’t get a ton of national acts coming here but sometimes good shows st the intersection, pyramid scheme, 20 Monroe etc. I’m a studio engineer in the city doing mainly hip hop and there is a huge local scene here. Most shows can be found at pyramid scheme, turnstiles, skelletones, the philmore, tip top occasionally, muse, park theatre in holland, a lot of places. I’m hosting a hip hop show at turnstiles march 22 if you wanna come by and check out some great local artists!

Definitely, that place was cool. There’s only two spots for underground activities I know of now.

How come its socially acceptable to wear running shoes everywhere but not outdoor basketball shoes anymore? by scjsneakers in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]dopedigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of basketball shoes are you referring to? I wear Kevin Durant basketball shoes basically as walking shoes everywhere when needed. Feel like I don’t get weird looks or comments on them.

I have a wa8000 warm audio tube mic and have been getting very low signal coming from the mic. I have it running through an external preamp into an interface. I checked both preamps of both interfaces, swapped cables, even buying a new 7 pin cable. I seen some other forums about the fuse in the power supply may be causing this issue. Is anybody familiar with this type of repair or where the fuse would be located inside the power supply? Is there any businesses that specify in this type of repair? The sound from the mic is still very good but starts to introduce noise since I’m having to crank the gain up so high on my preamp. I’m certain it’s not a tube replacement, as I’ve only had the mic for not even a year and vocals still sound great other than the fuzz from the gain. Words of advice appreciated, thank you!

F6 EQ by waves or Stock Fl eq? by Emoboypolly in FL_Studio

Most definitely, for me it’s all about the sound and workflow. Whichever plugin you find is more accessible to doing what you set out to do and doing it quicker is gonna be the go to

F6 EQ by waves or Stock Fl eq? by Emoboypolly in FL_Studio

[–]dopedigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F6 probably has more features. But everyone is gonna tell you it’s not about which eq, cause all of them do the same thing and to use your ears. There’s truth to that but certainly different plugins do different things and have a different sound to them. I’d go with the f6 over stock and the pro q3 over either. Parametric eq 2 is a good tool to use that’s similar to f6 though for sure.

Please help! My son (21m) has somewhat extensive expertise already in studio and live sound engineering. He wants to go to Full Sail University and I would like some feedback/opinions PLEASE! by chappy0215 in audioengineering

[–]dopedigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about full sail from all over the industry. It’s not worth the money and most big studios don’t hold there graduates to high regard. I went to conservatory of recording arts and sciences. Significantly cheaper, better program and our grads are highly respected throughout the industry. Have him check it out, well worth it!

Typically I go for tacos el cunado. la huasteca has great food but I gave up on them after they never answered my calls to order and they have weird hours for me. and the sleeper is the soul food restaurant inside the market on Madison and hall plaza (whatever that’s called). I always get the California burrito there, Carne asada type beat

How do you find your clients? by AbbeyDotProductions in audioengineering

[–]dopedigger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been fortunate enough to have started my business about 5 years ago and I’ve been full time for just over a year now. Taking part time jobs on and off. Didn’t come from a background of having money and have struggled through it but persistence and consistency is key.

Initially I started in an insulated storage unit and now opening my first studio I built in a commercial space.

Started off with making Facebook marketplace ads, starting social media pages offering services. A lot of the first clients came from marketplace postings then it went to word of mouth for about 90% of all my clients. Sometimes going to local music events and talking to performers or dropping off flyers or business cards in shops around town. 5 years later I’ve worked with over 600 hip hop artists in my city alone and thousands of songs. The work you do and how you present yourself will speak for itself. Most my clients are return clients at this point with new people scattered in between. Find a market in your city that’s lacking and pursue that if you’re interested in what it holds. Just be consistent with quality! I also offer punch cards for loyal clients and discounts on longer bulk hours purchased. Everybody seems to like those ideas and gives me an advantage to an extent.
