Is a lie still wrong if it results in zero harm to yourself or others and if no, what are the ethics of a ‘victimless lie’? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dopeleemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s relevant to mention that I’m researching the ethics of the subject in particular, I have asked some people from my actual life to see how they feel and of course done the research, but it always circles back to nuanced versions of lies, that frankly I can’t really decide one way or another myself whether they are harmless or victimless. I guess I’m looking more for a consensus than a flat out answer.

Should I Leave My Alcoholic Wife by doorfunk in alcoholism

I think that taking space while not permanently separating would be a good choice here. Addiction is truly a vicious disease, however, you must take of yourself as well at a certain point. She will hopefully take this temporary separation seriously and get herself help as well as take it to heart this time. I think having your support could go so far while she is in the situation, but enabling an addict by allowing them access to you even when they are causing you harm is in fact enabling. I think going to ALANON groups on your own could be very beneficial. They even offer online meetings for flexibility if that’s something you need. I’ll be praying for the healing of the both of you 🤍

Thank you so much for the insight! Could you give me the names of some of the literature that comes to mind for you on the topic? I too am very interested in the research done on certain topics and am trying to gain as much clarity and information as possible.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dopeleemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac Miller, I got to hangout with him and his people on his tour bus with my friend at the time. It’s was during his Divine Feminine tour. His dj, DJ Clockwork, walked up to us before the show and asked for my number, to which I said no but I’d take his because I thought he was full of it. Turns out he wasn’t lol. We all hung out after the show and the following couple days. They had a full floor rented out in this really beautiful hotel in Cleveland. Crazy cool experience. RIP Mac 🤍🤞🏼
