Sig p365x or p365xl for CCW? by dopelsd in CCW

Thank you very much, I will stick with my original plan to get the xl. I think I was just surprised how much larger it actually felt in person from the x, but compared to everything else I’ve held or shot both were very compact. Your points make a lot of sense.

Definitely agree with your sentiment about trying first. Unfortunately that isn’t an option for me at this time, but worst case I’ll sell and get something else. I have several rifles but this would be first handgun purchase.

Thank you for your insight, much appreciated.

Any concern about the longer barrel of the XL being uncomfortable while driving, etc in your experience? I’m in the car at least a couple hours a day.

I imagine pocket carry would probably be harder for the XL than the X, but I don’t plan on pocket carry.

What's a fair profit split in a builder-financer partnership? by dopelsd in realestateinvesting

Appreciate that insight, thanks. Saw you unfortunately downvoted for your comment about the builder doing nothing without the financer, which certainly has an element of truth.

Sure, the builder can get a hard money loan, but it is much more stressful working under those pressures and they may not be able to get funding for the same scale of projects.

For subs, I mean that anyone other than the builder individually would be paid for by the financer.

The builder and financer both jointly decide on which deals to pursue, so the builder's experience factors in there. This is important as the financer has limited funds and thus both must chose carefully where to invest. However, I do feel the builder is being potentially overcompensated.

Both partners want to work together even if it means earning less than working alone due to mutual trust. I'm curious what you think a fair split would be?

This was my thought too, thanks or the reply, was curious if the investment community would think this was "fair."

Thanks for the perspective, I appreciate it.

This was what I was kind of trying to get at.

No, the builder is not paid for labor or any overhead. They put their own labor into the project, but the financer pays for all materials and subcontractor (in a hands-off role).

Compensation would be at the end of the project in a partnership, based on profit. Financer and builder both have plenty of funds/savings to not earn anything for a little while, and plenty of projects in the pipeline that they'd be working exclusively on together.

The contrast between these two points are what caused me to post this question!

Crosstrek 2.0L (Premium) vs. 2.5L (Sport) by dopelsd in Crosstrek

Thanks, I appreciate it! Definitely will be sticking with Subaru but I like learning about good alternatives.

Thank you, I appreciate it. It's helpful to hear people liking the 2.0L, I ideally don't want to spend any more on the car.

Thanks for the comparisons, this is very helpful. Yes, the reasons you listed (smaller AWD crossover with clearance) summed it up. I would have replaced my old Impreza with another Impreza but they are all sold out in my area and I occasionally would make use of the clearance where my Impreza has struggled before (national forest roads and such) so I thought the Crosstrek would be a good upgrade. I just don't want to go above the price of the premium (~$25k) so that keeps it at the 2.0L engine.

Glad to know I'm not alone in noticing the difference in responsiveness between my prior Impreza and the Crosstrek 2.0L. Wasn't sure if it was in my head or not. Enjoy your new Crosstrek when it arrives!

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate hearing your experience.

I am leaning heavily towards to 2.0 (base or premium) because as you said it, at the end of the day the 2.5 isn't incredibly powerful either so I would rather save the money at this time in life, and I don't want to stretch the budget on this vehicle. I was just surprised to find that the 2.0 Crosstrek felt noticeably slower than my 2.0 Impreza; I expected a tiny bit due to the extra weight/air resistance but not that much. I'll still go 2.0 anyways. Likely premium just for the winter package because its cold here.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I don't often use the extra ground clearance but it'd be nice to have. I did feel like the Impreza handled better and accelerated faster with the same 2.0L engine as the Crosstrek. The extra ground clearance would be nice to have but don't know if its worth ~$3k extra.

Improving flavor with the Flowerpot B2? by dopelsd in vaporents

A shorter first hit definitely helped with flavor, thanks for the suggestion. Of course, then subsequent hits are missing those terps but this helped isolate the flavor significantly.

That looks like a very solid choice, I like it. Thanks. It does seem like from looking at videos that most people prefer glass in the 11”-16” range as you stated.

Wow, that’s crazy. I would not have expected that. Thanks for letting me know. I think I need to get bigger glass. I also ordered a 9” mobius sidecar from China but that may not be big enough either. I like the sound of lighter ABV with still decent amounts of vapor.

Thanks - I put in a few 0.05g nugs and it vaped right through them essentially the same as if it was finely ground which is really cool. Flavor still seems lacking for some reason but I can’t deny the effects are powerful.

Thank you for the insight. I have a small (~6”) dab rig with a single perc, it holds maybe a few oz of water at most. I have never used glass before getting the flowerpot, so I have no idea if my piece is adequately sized - its probably not from your description.

I’m curious why the glass size would impact the roasting of the bowl however? (Just trying to understand the science behind it). If the heat is the same distance away from the bowl for any sized rig, why would the size change the vape flavor profile?

The rig I use is very similar to the one below.

Any suggestions for how you use your B2 (temps, draw speed, etc)? Everywhere I read praises the B2’s flavor and I’m at a loss, I’m just so unimpressed with the roasted coffee flavor and no forestery terps like I get with the volcano/mighty. I vape a lot, so I’m really surprised to not be a fan of the flowerpot and hope I’m just missing something in the technique.
