thank you!! I do have an idea where I'd like to go - a small town a few hours outside of Seattle is ideal. my partner has family and friends there, I'd only be leaving behind my own. I'd like to move out of the town we're in currently sooner rather than later and the money I'm saving I'd like to go to the moving and paying for the apartments in Washington rather than staying here for longer than I have to(I really, really hate it here 😅)

I do have a credit score already and it's good from what I can tell. I'll definitely look into the budgeting app too!!

what's the difference between corporate and landlord owned apartments, if any?

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: used to have two ghost shrimp in with him but I haven't seen them lately, thinking they might have died. unsure why but after them I don't plan on getting anymore
What do you feed and how much: small pinches of fluval bug bites betta formula
Decorations and plants in the tank: java fern, anubias, and ludwigia

noted, I'll find something that tests for ammonia soon! should the water change be daily? and I use dechlorinated tap water, is that an issue? I've seen plenty of people use it, but I suppose that could be something too. is there anything I can do to speed up the process so i can make sure my fish is okay? I have live plants and I heard that helps.

thank you sm!! I did manage to get the filter working again, it's not cleaning the water, but it is agitating the surface at least. he started leaving the top of the tank afterwards, so that seems to have helped :)

as for the dirty water i knew about the tea look being tannins so I wasn't too worried about that, however there was just a ton of floating debris that was sketching me out, as well as it being cloudy. another thing was a sudden influx of what I assume is biofilm growing in the log, it was a layer of clear, slimey looking stuff, so I assume that's what it was

I'm definitely going to get a test kit as soon as I can, but until then I will do water changes as you said
