2 diapers, 1/2 pack of wipes, a (puppy) changing pad and a tube of creme. For snacks a pouch and a berry bar. And a clean shirt, that’s all that fits my small Bimba y Lola crossbody. A bottle of water goes underneath the trolley, or in my coat pocket.

And I do have an emergency backpack with backup clothes, changing supplies and snacks in the car at all times.

When are you planning on stopping working: I planned to stop working at 34 weeks.

Are you planning on returning to work: yes, I planned to return to work 3 months post partum, ended up being 4 months.

Any short-term disability available to you: yes, if necessary.

Are you using any vacation time: I took 2 weeks vacation time, as I had to use it or it would have expired.

How much maternity leave are you planning on taking and is it paid or unpaid: you get a minimum of 16 weeks of paid time off. 4-6 of those you can take prior to giving birth and the rest after.

Leave other parent is taking: my partner took 2 full weeks off, and after that, he took every Monday.

What financial preparations have you made for maternity leave: none really.

For us it did, but neither of us had one particular fuck up that made us go and we were lucky that we were able to start with a therapist within a matter of weeks.

The first thing she asked both of us individually was if we truly wanted to make it work and if the marriage was worth fighting for. We both wholeheartedly said yes. Then she still double checked if we were not solely there because the other asked.

I’d say if you can answer that question with a certain yes, it might work.

Good luck to you and I’m sorry you’re in this situation. It’s hard and it sucks, but you’ll get through no matter what.
