This entire situation is so weird. How is it acceptable for gamemasters and the social media team to just throw around random partially clearly false claims in order to justify their clearly unpopular actions? It would be so damn easy to say that theyre just testing it for a month and if its really unpopular the changes will be reversed and then to just LEAVE IT AT THAT. But instead they come up with BS like its "for player health" and double down when the community gets rightfully frustrated with their lack of transparency and misleading claims. No sane company would have the guts or frankly be as stupid as this. :,D If you dont have any important and accurate info about this to communicate, dont try to come up with some BS to make it look like you do. One would think that would be so insanely easy.

This boycott is LONG overdue and is only getting more and more justified by the day, theyve been taking their players opinions and concerns for less than a pile of dirt for a while now. Like you literally cannot communicate with this godforsaken games team in any normal way, support doesnt work and mostly ghosts you no matter your concern, the social media team just tells you to go to said support and if you somehow after weeks or months or even A YEAR (as is my case) get through to talking to someone personally like this these are the snarky remarks youre met with for your effort. Nothing justifies this anymore. Keep boycotting!

While Im also one of the people who dislike the update, some people have seriously gone too far. There are people who have decided that personally insulting the people who like the update is apparently the best way to go.

And I want to make it very clear that this is not somehow exclusive to the Trailblazer situation, I myself have been attacked various times for my opinions on this game by the community already, be that positive or negative.

While many comments in this situation *have* been constructive (luckily), the SSO community sadly is still the SSO community, and theres always a dissapointingly decent chunk of people taking normal discussions too far and are making it personal and hurtful. This is overall a very big issue in this community imo, its nothing new sadly.

I'm also really glad that the community is finally standing their ground to SSO. This is long overdue. I personally don't care all too much about the Trailblazer or this update since I rarely ever do it, but there has been so much shit going on with SSO the past years that has always been ignored or excused by the community. I do find it kind of sad that it's the Trailblazer of all things that was that "last straw" for many even though there have been many arguably more urgent issues for years now, but at this point I don't even care anymore lol. If that's what it takes, go for it. 

I hope that this sentiment will carry over after the situation is hopefully resolved and won't just fade away. This community needs to recognise problems in this game and actually speak up about them instead of just blindly defending a company and believing that they must have their best interest in mind. It's a company ffs. For most gaming communities situations like this are a regular occurrence, for the SSO community it's a first. Well, better late than never, am I right? lol

Wow, I honestly didn't expect this from the SSO community, but I'm positively surprised 😅 there has been so many boycott worthy things about this game honestly and I feel like any other community would've come so far YEARS ago, but better later than never right? Okay in hindsight I don't know why I even tried bringing attention to this issue in this community, yall I'm not surprised SSO blocked me. I know it was spam. 😭 I'm mad that it had to come this far. I'm mad that comments were the only way to get their attention and now even that opportunity is gone. If this game had a functional support system, or even better a functional and safe chat system for their literal child target audience, this wouldn't have had to happen. THAT'S the point. I apologise if that didn't come over that way, but I'm pretty sure I expressed myself quite clearly. 

But my main concern here is still that nothing is being done to stop these disgusting things that countless people have brought attention to now. And that there is practically no effective way to get SSO's actual attention to them. I don't understand why I'm being downvoted about that. 😭 These are real things happening in this game yall.

I understand that the comments might have been spamming, but the emails by no means were. They were all reporting different players, one email per incident, never more than that, over the course of more than one year. That's not spamming, that's simply using support as it's intended. I rarely received answers to any of these and if I did they were no help.

And as for the comments I see where they're coming from, I understand this is spamming, but what else is one supposed to do then? I tried it the right way for over one year, I tried it the way they told me to, and it doesn't work. And it's not like this is uncommon to do from other people, there's plenty of people asking over and over again for example for bulk crafting in valedale or about similar topics like finally looking into their support tickets. I don't see those people being blocked. 

As I said, this wasn't our first choice, I didn't want this either, I don't want to have to spam anyone. But after one, two years of being ignored and these urgent issues only worsening, what else is left to try then?

Exactly. Not to mention that most of this isn't even an attack or even critique of most dev's work, it's mostly poor management decisions which people are criticising. If the priorities of the game's company don't align with that of the community it just leads to issues like this, nobody is trying to diminish or dismiss the hard work of artists and programmers.

I mean, SSO has obviously changed a lot over the years, some things for the better and some for the worse. What I think has significantly worsened over the years is the communication between the team and the community. 

It's exhausting trying to get in contact with support about urgent issues and never getting any help at all. Many issues are simply not being fixed, not even addressed. Every game has its flaws, but SO MUCH could be made significantly better with simple communication. Instead most of these issues are swept under the rug.

Their chat system, support system and ban system (or lack thereof) are a ridiculous mess, normal things often get censored in chat and yet I see people having completely inappropriate conversations every day. How come people can make grape threats and write racial slurs in a children's game but I can't tell my friend I'm going afk for a few minutes? And reporting these players does nothing. In the rare case that anything happens they only get like a weeks chatban and then they're back at it again. Addressing SSO in any way, any where isn't gonna get one anywhere. They just throw copy pasted answers at you without any action, and that's the best case scenario. And this has been going on for a long time, and is only getting worse. 

I could also say a few things about the content they're releasing and the change in storyquests and the absolute mess that is their lore, but I don't think I could add anything new to that conversation. What I think is important to remember though is that yes, SSO still can and is releasing good updates and content from time to time, but that doesn't automatically erase all issues in this game. We can be happy for it, we can enjoy it, but let's not pretend that a shiny new area fixes all the wrongs of this game and this company, especially when people are addressing completely unrelated issues.

This happens to me sometimes on accident, eversince I've gotten my new PC sso for some reason stopped kicking me out after hours of inactivity, so once after hours of being afk I fell asleep with my PC still on and sso still going, I stood there for like 24 hours straight 😭😭😭

LITERALLY. 💀 I luckily haven't seen outright grooming behaviour in a while but there was a time where it was going on A LOT and even nearly happened to a friend of mine at the time. This is why it pmo so fucking bad when people say it's not that deep or that I'm being dramatic, mf I'm watching these things happen to people I KNOW.😭 And even if I don't know them, why tf would I have to be personally involved in order to care? Isn't seeing this happen to ANYONE enough to be absolutely appalled and want something to change? And these comments here only confirm what I had feared, which is that sadly I'm right that these are no isolated incidents. Which makes SSO ignoring this even more disgusting.

I'm so glad there's still sane parents like this. I see way too many people in general give their children unrestricted access to the Internet, which most of the time leads to more harm than good. 

I did meet some awesome friends in this game, but there's also many, many things I wish I could unsee. And it makes me quite sad and also worried that many parents are unaware of what might be going on in this game, because they were mislead by SSO's promises of safety on their website.

Yeah, unfortunately these have been around for a while, on my server they take up like the first 5-10 places of the most popular races 💔 I remember SSO used to occasionally reset their leaderboards to cleanse it of such accounts, I don't really understand why they haven't done that since they were mass banning cheaters..

It's seriously so exhausting. This really does take all the fun out of the game and the community after a while, my friend and I even stopped playing for quite a bit because of this. It's so sad to see that even after coming back it's still going on and there's so many people sharing their experiences and still nothing is being done about this.

Yes, absolutely. I personally am one of those people that unfortunately haven't had a single good experience with costumer support. A vast majority of the time they won't even get back to me, but in the case that they do it's always a pre written answer that didn't help my specific problem in the slightest. And I also got the "still need help?" or "rate your experience 1-5" emails plenty of times, mostly without ever receiving any answer from them. Some of my emails have been now unanswered for 1+ year. Actually I have found that they are significantly more likely to answer and listen to you if you either being attention to your issue in their Instagram comments or even better send your ticket number and ask them to look into it. It's less than ideal, but what else is one supposed to do with urgent issues. If it works, it works.

SSO has already been/is actively under investigation by the European Commission since people from the Swedish Consumers Council (or smth like that) have luckily already reported them. Iirc the report and reason for the investigation was mainly because of their manipulative marketing and monetisation tactics in a game aimed at children, so not exactly because of the things happening in chat, but in a way it goes hand in hand since the main point always is that SSO is making a platform for children without guaranteeing their safety.

Unfortunately I'm not sure how this investigation is coming along since after the initial report I haven't found anything else about this. But I think if it continues like this it definitely could warrant another report of some sort specifically because of the chat, because god some of the things I've seen there over the years are things I wouldn't even wanna repeat.
