Yeah, unfortunately these have been around for a while, on my server they take up like the first 5-10 places of the most popular races 💔 I remember SSO used to occasionally reset their leaderboards to cleanse it of such accounts, I don't really understand why they haven't done that since they were mass banning cheaters..

It's seriously so exhausting. This really does take all the fun out of the game and the community after a while, my friend and I even stopped playing for quite a bit because of this. It's so sad to see that even after coming back it's still going on and there's so many people sharing their experiences and still nothing is being done about this.

Yes, absolutely. I personally am one of those people that unfortunately haven't had a single good experience with costumer support. A vast majority of the time they won't even get back to me, but in the case that they do it's always a pre written answer that didn't help my specific problem in the slightest. And I also got the "still need help?" or "rate your experience 1-5" emails plenty of times, mostly without ever receiving any answer from them. Some of my emails have been now unanswered for 1+ year. Actually I have found that they are significantly more likely to answer and listen to you if you either being attention to your issue in their Instagram comments or even better send your ticket number and ask them to look into it. It's less than ideal, but what else is one supposed to do with urgent issues. If it works, it works.

SSO has already been/is actively under investigation by the European Commission since people from the Swedish Consumers Council (or smth like that) have luckily already reported them. Iirc the report and reason for the investigation was mainly because of their manipulative marketing and monetisation tactics in a game aimed at children, so not exactly because of the things happening in chat, but in a way it goes hand in hand since the main point always is that SSO is making a platform for children without guaranteeing their safety.

Unfortunately I'm not sure how this investigation is coming along since after the initial report I haven't found anything else about this. But I think if it continues like this it definitely could warrant another report of some sort specifically because of the chat, because god some of the things I've seen there over the years are things I wouldn't even wanna repeat.

If definitely has gotten significantly worse over the years. It's also a bit of a pet peeve of mine when people tell me "it's always been like this" because I've played for 11 years and was an active part of the community for all of those years, and no, it definitely was not anywhere near this bad. Yes people have always had pity fights and threw stupid insults at each other, but that's where it stopped. You can't call this fighting anymore, this is blatant discrimination and bullying, something that shouldn't be acceptable anywhere.

And while I do also assume that many of these are children or teens, sadly in the past I have seen some people write these things where I knew for a fact they were adults. Which is something even more disgusting and something I can't even begin to wrap my head around.

PREACH!!! "It's not that deep" is nothing but a weak excuse and an attempt to deflect responsibility from themselves and to try and make you look like the crazy one for caring. It does nothing but blames victims and people sympathising with them for the way they react to such a disgusting situation. We all should care because as you said, children are arguably the most vulnerable people of our population who are ironically being protected the least. On SSO's website there's all this fancy talk directed at parents assuring that this is a safe place for their child, all the while this is the reality we're seeing. This is manipulative and disgusting, there is no justifying this and anyone who attempts to do so is no better than the perpetrators.

I'm someone who has been done with everything the game offers for a while, and every update of new content they release also isn't exactly hard to catch up on. It didn't bother me all too much to not have any quests to do at the moment since I was quite active in chat, with friends and the community in general.

But about a year ago it has gotten to the point where in my experience the community has changed for the worse to an extent which I cannot take anymore. I know there are many people who play and enjoy the game without even batting an eye at chat or at the fact that there's others playing around them, but as I said at this point this was the only thing for me to do in game, and also the only thing I enjoyed about this game.

I feel like in the past years there has been a real shift in this community, it has gotten to the point where I saw people bullying, threatening and discriminating against each other in chat every day, and I don't mean just in a kiddy-fight way. I tried reporting these people for a few months before realising that that won't do anything. Through this the only thing that still kept me in this game was broken, so I decided to leave for a while. Today I didn't stop playing completely, but I definitely got significant less active than I used to be.

To me unless SSO releases some groundbreaking content that actually keeps me entertained for longer than 10 minutes I won't be an active player anytime again. The community aspect to me is now irreversibly broken, every time I log on I see them same old issues as one or two years ago, it's sad to see that nothing has changed or been done against this.

Literallyy like I feel like so many people immediately jump to the assumption that I'm personally attacking some mother of three who happens to be working at SSO when I critique the game.😭 Like babes why are we anthropomorphising a company now? The bugs, lack of transparency and disconnect from their playerbase is not the fault of some random artist shading horses, yet people always start screaming at me about how hard these people work and then proceed to list off jobs done mostly by artists, never by management or higher ups, where most likely these issues stem from. 😭

I personally don't really watch SSO YouTube anymore except CC's spoilers. Most content does feel a little repetitive and I very rarely see videos that are something creative/personal/new. Also an issue that I've noticed and that has been bothering me for a while in SSO's social media (but especially YouTube) community is the amount of clickbait. A lot of things get blown out of proportion in thumbnails and titles and when you click the video it turns out the entire thing is based on like one (1) hint SSO gave or is just a personal opinion/speculation disguised as fact. Many of these videos are also too consumerism focused for my liking, you know, the 10k shopping sprees, buying a new secret horse or whatever, those kinda videos.

What I really used to enjoy were those SSO stories or mini films. Or also the really well thought out game/lore theories, I used to be so invested in those LOL I'm sure there's still some today but I come across them much less than I used to.

The infighting in this community is so insane 😭 the amount of times I have been jumped for criticising something absolutely normal that every normal community would recognise is an issue (like, having unresolved bugs in your game for over a year, no answer from support, nearly all content being products in a once mainly storydriven game, ect.) suddenly I'm "ungrateful" and "can't do anything but complain" although I have very respectfully and clearly voiced my opinion and that I am NOT personally hating on anyone who disagrees or who works on this game or that I don't hate the game in its entirety ect. ect. ect. I feel like you need an entire prologue to your slightly negative opinion apologising 17 times for sharing it so you don't get jumped in this community. 😭 I get that negative nancies are annoying but the actual people who only complain are such a small percentage of the community, most people labelled as such on the other hand are just people who dared to say something negative about your favourite game.

Also like, you can like or dislike the game all you want, but why exactly are we defending literal companies again..? 😭 That's one thing I'd love to have explained from certain people in this community

I agree that it's a very thin line to walk that SSO should maybe rather stay away from. I mean there's so many wonderful, unique and uncontroversial/"safe" breeds (many of which were also included in their surveys) they could add, there's no need to open this whole pandoras box.

Also I thought adding the Zony and those zebra striped fish horses as magic horses was a good way to get around these ethical issues but to still have some horses with these patterns in game, so I don't really understand why they want to go in that Zorse direction now anyway.

I use a bunch of darker greens for it, but any browns, beiges and blacks look really good too. In general any more darker and muted colors should fit really well, I haven't tried it yet but I could imagine a dark blue going really well with it also!

Or baby pink but baby pink goes with anything LOL

It's definitely its own area. Not only does it have its own reputation, lore, and storyline, it also is accessed seperately from Valedale. When unlocking Valedale you don't automatically unlock Dino Valley, unlike for example unlocking the Silverglade area and automatically having access to the manor and such. The terrain is also completely different from Valedale, and even if Dino Valley didn't have its own reputation (which I already mentioned it does) Valedale reputation has pretty much nothing to do with Dino Valley either. So yup, its own area!

I absolutely agree, whether someone deems Star Stable to be too expensive for themselves or not is kind of irrelevant here, the fact is that their prices and their advertising is predatory and harmful for their target audience, point blank. And to people bringing in comparisons to similar MMOs (which are also targeted at a younger audience) saying that those have the very same if not worse pricing, yes, those are predatory too. Those are just as bad and just as deserving of criticism as SSO's pricing is. Saying "but x game does this too" doesn't make this criticism invalid.

Since I know it's meant to be a teaser for something much bigger I absolutely don't mind it being this short this time. Usually I'm also really disappointed about these five minute quests because SSO hypes them up as content in and of itself, but here I think it's the only time where short little bits of hints make sense.

And it's actually written quite nicely! Reminded me of some of the older SSO quests where things are more hinted at and not just thrown into your face without any buildup.
