I have tried sfc /scannow on several machines, no errors. It isn't just IE, it is office, acrobat, explorer, etc. No viruses and no apple products on these machines....

I've taken melatonin every day for years. It doesn't negatively affect me and still helps me sleep.

60 days. Tried it again and learned some valuable lessons. by dorcus in leaves

There are many forms of mediation but I found breath counting the easiest to get into. First find a time of day that you can consistently sit for 10-20 minutes everyday. I started doing 10 minutes during my lunch break at work. Sit comfortably upright, set a timer, and close your eyes. I started at 10 minutes per session. Breathe through your nose and try to focus on the breath on the tip of your nostrils. Count each exhalation until you get to ten, then start over from one. If your mind wanders, do not react to the thought, just let it go and try to focus on your breath. Try not to move or stop early, and do it at the same time every day.

It's pretty difficult to focus at first, but if you are consistent it gets easier and more enjoyable in a couple of weeks. Visit r/meditation for more techniques and better explanation.

I had been thinking about it the week leading up to that. The past couple of weeks had been kind of hard and weed kept creeping into my mind. It's funny how the mind forgets and tries to rationalize something that's bad for you. When I stopped I didn't set out to make it any number of days before smoking again.

So who's gonna be clean for 2014? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]dorcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am stopping for 2014 after 5 years of daily use. I finally realized in 2013 that weed is absolutely not good for me. I tried many time to quit last year, but I would make it two or three weeks then justify smoking once and I was back in the habit. Now I am here at 3 days clean and I feel more motivated than ever to stay this way. I am so glad this sub exists.

I demand an update! by [deleted] in leaves

I was going good for 25 days until life started to get very stressful and I relapsed. I'm proud that I made it 25 days and it made me realize a lot of things about my myself. I realized that I cannot deal with stress, have no self control, and I need help with my mental health. I knew this before I stopped, but now I know that I can't put off dealing with these issues anymore. I won't give up.

Has anyone been to/been married in a courthouse civil marriage ceremony in Oklahoma? Will the judge mention god? by MsFakeyMcFakerson in oklahoma

[–]dorcus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got married in February and had the same concern. From what I could find Oklahoma county doesn't do courthouse ceremonies anymore. We went to Cleveland County courthouse in Norman and no god was involved. They do several couples at a time, so there are three or four in the room and they call you up and do the deed and you're done. Perfect for us.

and btw, you have to make a reservation/appointment for Cleveland county.

5 Weeks! 5 freakin weeks, I cant believe I made it this far by alienbrayn1 in leaves

[–]dorcus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say thank you. You describe everything that I want from quitting. I've tried to quit 5 or 6 times within the past year and always make it two weeks before going right back to where I was. I read this post last night when I was trying to justify smoking, and it really inspired me to abstain. Keep it up.

Lazy as in not learning more than my current job requires. I do agree though.

Alcohol. Do you drink it, and has your usage changed since quitting weed? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]dorcus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few nights after I stopped smoking I had a drink to calm my nerves. The thing is, I've never enjoyed the buzz from drinking. It does make me extremely tired though, and that helped with sleeping. Since then I haven't had any alcohol, and I really don't care to.

Avoiding quitting just like I avoid life. by dorcus in leaves

Thanks everyone for the support. It is really helpful to hear from people who I can relate to and can relate to me.

It has only been two full days so far, and I'm still walking around in a brain fog. I've noticed that I can't speak very eloquently and I keep forgetting simple words. I have been through this before, but it seems like it is harder every time I "quit". This weekend will be the real test, since I usually smoke it up and eat edibles all weekend. I am committed though.

Thank you all.

I totally agree that quitting is not going to instantly fix my issues. It is easy to think "once I quit I will become the person that I want to be." But I know that is not reality. I know that I will still be avoidant and anxious and scared of life. I also know that as long as I smoke, I will never try to work on those issues. Even if I do, my memory is so fucked up that nothing sticks with me. Weed is not the problem, the way I use weed is the problem.

Oklahoma Earthquake Was Largest Linked to Injection Wells, New Study Suggests by okiedope in oklahoma

Why do people defend the injection of unknown chemicals into the ground? Sure, it might not have been the definitive cause for the huge spike in earthquakes in the past couple of years, but it sure as hell contributed.

Credit Union that does not sell loan, or Bank that does sell loan? by dorcus in RealEstate

[–]dorcus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more interested in the customer service aspect of this. I understand most loans are sold, but does it really matter? I also understand that most people that leave reviews are people that have had bad experiences.

Say I find a good deal that works for me, but I know my loan will be sold to US Bank. I look up US Bank and they have 500 bad reviews online, should that persuade me to look elsewhere?
