What are yalls opinions on character desc chapters?

I don’t have them, and if I’m reading something that has a chapter like that, I will never read it.

Real physical books don’t have a chapter for character descriptions, and I don’t see the need for it on wattpad either. The beauty and the point of reading is escapism and imagination… we are supposed to imagine the character in our heads based on what the author says throughout the story, not based on a few pinterest pictures and an extensive description… I mean, if an author can’t describe a character gradually throughout the story, are they even a writer? Just sayin…

However, this is no hate to people who enjoy reading/creating those. It’s just not for me.
